UNLV FB hires Marcus Arroyo as HC.

Two of them could be coaching in the Pac-12 Championship on Friday in Santa Clara, California — Oregon offensive coordinator Marcus Arroyo and Utah defensive coordinator Morgan Scalley.

There appears to be mutual interest between those coaches and UNLV, according to those with knowledge of the search, but how much is another question. Both assistants, however, fit Reed-Francois’ hiring history of seeking up-and-coming coaches.

UNLV HC job posted on Indeed.

However, from some comments on the csnbbs board, there are some legal consequences if they don’t post.  Texas posted the DC and OC positions on Indeed.  Houston was sued $25 million for not publicly posting.

It is a state job so it has to be posted publicly. Normally it wouldn't be posted on a site like Indeed, that was a mistake.

Apparently indeed did the posting, not UNLV.

Told you guys, DRF wants her own (younger) candidate. Looks like this will be like the basketball search where several experienced coaches were interested, but DRF went for her own guy.

Not sure why people are shocked.  That’s her MO.

That’s why there’s this: https://ncaamarket.ncaa.org/jobs/

Literally custom-built for it.

Is it fitting or irony that possibly the most versatile word in the English language is also of unknown origin?

My guess is it’s Arroyo as the next HC (not my first choice).

Familiar names (MWC connection) could round out the staff. Javon boughknight (former Wyoming WR) as OC (though it’ll be Arroyo calling plays) and Donte Williams (SJSU secondary coach) as DC.

UNLV just doesn't seem like the place for a young up and comer, especially not at this point. They need someone who is a proven winner, and would get locals excited.

Brady Hoke, June Jones, Jim Mora, Butch Jones, and Sarkisian would all be good hires. It will be pretty disappointing if she goes for some no-name.

No way! She's going to hire Graham Harrell! :rotflmfao:

That Joe Arrigo guy is a great standup comic!

Boom goes the dynamite.
