    • No. Wyoming only needs to finish 6-6
    • Yes. Wyoming will stay home, and BYU will be awarded Wyoming's bowl game, if Wyoming only finishes 6-6.

UNM fans love cheering for Wyoming. Hope the Pokes come to the New Mexico Bowl!

Shouldnt BYU be bowl eligible before posing this question?

In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

No - it doesnt work that way.

Utah State played in the 2017 Arizona Bowl at 6-6.

Nothing against Wyoming and I think they will end up better than 6-6, but I would like to see the Bowl requirements go to being 7 wins minimum. I think it used to be that way?

They didnt have any hard-and-fast win requirements (2006 was the 1st season) until the number of bowls exploded, because they didnt need them.  They would need to kill some bowls in order to raise the minimum.

Friend,

BYU's next 2 games are against Idaho St and UMass.

That's as good as being bowl eligible.

Then BYU's Super Bowl will be on rivalry weekend against the Aztecs in Jack Murphy Stadium.  BYU is planning on bringing 40,000 fans to that game.

Oh, in that case, well earned. Must feel like 1984 all over again.

It will be historic, no doubt.

Jack Murphy Stadium is BYU's 2nd home, almost.

I do think at least one 6-6 mw team will be left home this year. The conference should have a ton of bowl eligible teams.

Bowl eligible

1.  BSU

2.  AF

3.  Wyoming

4.  SDSU

5.  Hawaii

6.  Nevada

5 win teams

1.  USU

4 win teams

1.  CSU

2.  FSU

3.  SJSU

There could realistically be 7-9 teams that are eligible and only 6 guaranteed spots without a NY6 bowl.  Hopefully the Cheez It can't fill the their game since the Pac is struggling some.  Big 12 should fill their spots.  Really need Boise to get the NY6 Bowl for several reasons.

1. Las Vegas vs. Pac-12

Famous Idaho Potato Bowl vs. MAC
Gildan New Mexico Bowl vs. Conference USA
Hawai’i Bowl vs. BYU or American Athletic
– Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl vs. Big Ten
NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl vs. Sun Belt
Cheez-It Bowl Conditional for MW if bowl can’t fill a spot.
