Air Force vs New Mexico game rescheduled

Recommended Posts

Very classy of the Air Force Academy to agree to rescheduling this game. This New Mexico football team, is on the brink of mentally collapsing. Moral is at an all time low, about where it was just before Locksley was fired. An ass whipping by the AFA at this time would be down right cruel.

This at least gives the team a chance to refocus on the game of football, instead of the game of life. Davie had better be gone at the end of this season, we can’t take much more damage to this program... it feels like we’re at a reset point.

Totally agree this is the right thing to do in light of this tragedy, but  it is  a giant disadvantage for AF. Now we prepare for CSU with a bye  but we do not have the bye week prior to Wyoming which may be the most dangerous game on our schedule hard to tell.

But bottom line: Blessings to this guy's family and friends and the  New Mexico team.  Rick

Good hell - I really want to like AFA for all they stand for and represent but they sure do make it hard. I have never seen an institute with more whiners at every level.

Today's statement from their AD regarding the rescheduling of the game:

Quote

“We share New Mexico’s grief over the tragic loss of Nahje Flowers and offer our deepest condolences,” Air Force athletic director Nathan Pine said in a statement, according to the Journal. “Air Force will now make the necessary steps to go along with Commissioner Craig Thompson and the Mountain West’s unprecedented decision to cancel this weekend’s game and reschedule. While Air Force has been disadvantaged by the decision, it pales in comparison to the loss New Mexico experienced.”

Why include the last two sentences? Just shut your fat mouth and move on, it makes you sound petty and picked on.

Agree, totally uncalled for to even mention “disadvantaged” bunch of whiny bastards. Unreal.

So a brand new AD tripped over some words (ill-advised) and now the whole program are whiny bastards? Some of you people really like making mountains out of molehills.

Terrible news for UNM, they have had one gut punch after another this season.

Not just your AD, your whiny-assed coach as well.  Seems like AF is doing pretty well this year given how disadvantaged they are at everything...

Don't forget, a few weeks ago, Coach Troy was discussing whether AFA should leave the conference.  (Same as BYU)

Many here were upset by the comments from Air Force on the postponement. While I understand the concern there is always more to the story. While the biggest point was AFs support for NM, many thought the wording was horrible. As always there is more to the story and this is an insightful article if you want to take the time to read. Air Force will be without their number two quarterback for this game which was supposed to be a bye week and father complications that arose. GO FALCONS BEAT NM

@ltcpilot, you’re playing New Mexico... you can trot out your entire 3rd string players, and still win. This beat up, broken, UNM team, just wants the season to be over, they’ll put up token resistance at best.

There will be more people on the field between the two teams, than there will be in the stands, including the UNM band! You can still rest your stud players, for the Wyoming game.

NM always plays us tough and, with the emotions of 1st home game following the sad passing of your player this will be no different....AF can't look pass this game until the final whistle sounds IMHO

It will be Military Appreciation Night, there, but still, don’t expect to see a lot of people. Folks have already moved on Lobo men’s and women’s basketball, as both teams are currently undefeated.

Well you could have taken the high road on commenting how cool it was for a young man to see the correct priorities in life and interviewing for a Rhodes scholarship or seeing the fiscal concerns discussed in the article but instead needed to be a Richard Cranium. It is what everyone knows on the board is to be expected from you.  Have a great day.

It is cool the young man is interviewing for the Rhodes scholarship but even that sounded like whining.  The whole article is "woe is me for Air Force" because New Mexico asked for a change in the schedule due to horrific and tragic circumstances.  This is still just football.  Makes me proud that Boise State worked with New Mexico to have a moment of silence in tribute to Flowers!
