Well its a good thing Hillary and Biden didn't have any family foreign dealings going on! Just imagine how embarrassing that would have been if Bill had gotten a half million $ from Russia for a "speech" or Hunter Biden getting paid by Ukraine energy company.

Exactly.

Maybe we should find the conservative version of Retro in our ranks.  He/she could endlessly comb the inter webs to find articles that put liberals in a bad light.  We could start to think that our side is pure and right and it is just the other side that is compromised.

Most, if not all, politicians are bought and paid for.  They all lie.  You just have to pick which lies you like best.  If you think otherwise...maybe think your team is honest and pure...then you are naive beyond measure.

And do they completely ignore the fact that Trump's children are very actively involved in foreign business dealings?

I imagine that there are quite a few kids of politicians with cush foreign jobs because of their parent's office.  I am not sure what to make of the Trumps.  They already ran an international business.  The only international business experience Hunter Biden had was cross border pharma....mostly consumption.

Umm, no. Both Republicans and Democrats are zombie as shit. Whatever their leaders demand, they fall in line and obey.

Maybe you’re right.. But I look at Beto, who seemed like a really strong candidate at one time, who once he started saying really ridiculous shit lost support pretty quickly.

I wouldn’t consider Beto a Dem leader. An short-lived attractive flash in the pan but not part of the brass.

Yep - He's a guy who caught fire for awhile in his TX Senate run against Rafael Cruz - He should stay in Texas and try for office there

Noonan's recent Wall Street journal editorial had a good take.  If Trump hadn't run off Kelly and Mattis the Ukraine phone call would not have happened.

Trump had no choice but to run them off. He can't stand to be surrounded by anything but yes men and Kelly and Mattis are not in that category.

Trump is a horrible manager of people and always has been as his success in business has generally been a result of pure bullshit. Although that can go a long way in the building industry or in banana republics, it only gets you so far in American politics on the national scene.

Boom goes the dynamite.

Odds are this is probably true..............but then not every gun owner is a raving gun fetishist and they maintain some common sense thinking regarding the weaponry available - And Texas is changing so never say never for the long term, but I agree for the near term Beto didn't help himself with his gun comments

If you are a politician and want to be elected you can’t say dumb shit things like that, even if you believe them, which is why I don’t think Warren will be elected. You have to cater to the masses and have some charisma. How do you think Obama got elected, not counting that he got 99% of the black vote.

No. Conservatives aren't that naive and gullible.

I think that’s the biggest thing to me in this madness.. How easily Republicans can ignore or justify Trumps actions, I feel pretty confident that if Obama had said 1+1 is 3, his base wouldn’t support it. There literally isn’t anything Trumps base won’t justify at this point. Anyone still along for the ride is not coming off.

Ok.

He had to say ridiculous shit. Had to take chances. Biden is the opposite.

The more ridiculous Trump gets the harder his base digs their heels in. If he says Obama’s daughter sold nukes to asylum seekers they’d rally even harder.

Republicans never seemed the type to support a reality star from New York City either..

Trump: WHO SOLD THE NUKES?
Crowd: MALIA!
Trump: WHO DID SHE SELL THEM TO?
Crowd: IRAN!
Crowd: LOCK HER UP! LOCK HER UP! LOCK HER UP!

Who are all these people that defend Trump and his more ridiculous statements?  Who are all these people that support Trump no matter what?  People at Trump rallies?  Most Republicans are very restrained in how they support him.  Look at the impeachment thread on this forum.  It is basically 137 pages of you all agreeing with each other about how terrible Trump is and buying every article that Retro posts.

When he wins re-election, which I am 90% certain he will, Democrats will have no one to blame but themselves.  He won't be re-elected because Republicans think he is Mother Teresa.  He is going to win because the Democrat nominee will be soooo far to the left that the choice will be easy.  Trump > crazy socialists.
