BSU Broncos, easily the top selection for winning the women’s basketball title in the MWC. Should be a good season for the women’s game, with as many as 4 teams coming back with tons of talent!

New Mexico Lady Lobos struggling against a much taller UCRiverside team tonight. Tied at the half,  31-31.
 

Note to MWC teams... take it inside on the Lobos, they have no inside post size this year!

Wow, lady Lobos escape UCRiverside, 80-70, in a game that was much closer than the final score. I think the elevation finally caught up with UCR. Riverside had the size advantage for sure... but most importantly, UNM 1-0... whew!

Boise State finally has an inside game with 6’5” Oregon xfer Mallory MCGwire. Couple that with good perimeter shooters and a great point guard, and they are a very good offensive team. This has the potential to be their best women’s team in many years. They not only have a good starting five, but a good bench also.

Nevada beat Saint Mary's, winning our first season opener since 2014. We were picked 9th, but could potentially surprise this year.

Damn. Last Lobos struggling at home against Northern Arizona tonight. Down 27-12 after 1st, and  41-32 at the half. Battling back though, but still down 55-50 late in the 3rd. Ice cold shooting, and having to dig out of a hole, to start their first two games of the season ain’t good! 
Lobos rally for an 83-76 win. But they did it the hard way... again.

AF beat NJIT 68-48 in first home game after losing on the road to number 20 Arizona State

Broncos lost to last years sweet 16 Missouri State team by three points in the WNIT after routing Big Sky champ Portland State by 30. Redshirt junior 6’5” transfer post Mallory McGwire had 19 points and 17 rebounds agains Missouri State.

Lobos beat Houston tonight 81-71, and move to 3-0 on the season. The ladies went ice cold and turnover prone in the 4th Q for some reason, at one point they were up by 27, end up winning by 10.

Lady Lobos move to 5-0, after knocking off Utep, on the road, 93-78.

Next up, a road trip to a tourney in Cancun, Mexico.

Broncos take Lobos out on a nail biter. Lack of defense has been a bugaboo for the Boise State women so far this year and this game was no different. They were lucky to win.

Great game in the ladies version of Lobos vs Broncos. Down 82-80, Broncos hit a late 3 pt shot in OT to ice the win 83-82.. Two nail biter games tonight!

Started out hot, then that heartbreaking ot loss at BSU, then getting ‘womanhandled’ by Wyoming in the Pit.

Lobos should review that Wyoming game film over and over again, so they can see what teamwork looks like!  Im surprising to me, how much the mens and womens teams play alike. Uptempo, and lots of individual play. 
frustrating to see them grab a rebound, one or two passes, and with lots of the shot clock left, take terrible shots!

Great thread! I have become a huge fan of women’s basketball over the years thanks in large part to my daughter taking up the greatest sport on earth.  She’s only 5’9” but she plays like a six footer.

Lady Lobos will restart MWC action tonight at home against SJSU. Lady Lobos already in the negative column with an 0-2 league start, during the early league games... Good luck  ladies!
