The AAC thinks it deserves a guaranteed NY6 Bowl

Karl Benson has done a better job with the Sun Belt than Craig Thompson has done with the MWC...JMHO

I agree. Of course that has nothing to do with whether your conference deserves an automatic bid to the NY6 bowl.

What the AAC ACTUALLY deserves is a swift kick in the balls.

Boom goes the dynamite.

They are and they will likely finish the season ranked. Their schedule is cake.

Fortunately they don't have to compete in the SEC-Mountain. They've already proven they couldn't handle it.

Yeah, and they miss all of the top teams. They don't play Alabama, Auburn, LSU, or aTm. Georgia and Florida are the only two games that they won't be favored by double digits. They rest of their schedule is Vandy, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Arkansas.

The '04 Team was better IMO. It was a shitty draw in the Fiesta Bowl to be sure though.

That 2004 Utah team was legit.  Their spread option offense was cutting edge at the time and Alex Smith ran it beautifully.  Their average margin of victory that year was nearly 26 points per game.  The smallest margin of victory was 14 points.  That was a really good team.

What BYU teams would you consider to be better than this years BSU team?  The 2009 BYU team was the only MWC BYU I would say may have been slightly better, on paper.  Utah had two great teams and a bunch of 3-5 loss teams  between and after.

There are only 4 teams in MWC history that I would say this years Boise could not beat.  2004 Utah, 2008 Utah, 2009 TCU, 2010 TCU.

This years Boise team on paper to date compares very well with the rest.  You make it seem like programs had elite teams every year.  They didn't.

BYU's best MWC team might have actually been in 2006 with John Beck at QB.  They lost the season opener on a last-second field goal at Arizona and then dropped a double-overtime game at Boston College, which was led by Matt Ryan.  They then ran roughshod over the MWC, with an average margin of victory of 25.5 points, including a 14-point victory at #15 TCU.  Their only close game in MWC play was the come-from-behind win against Utah at Rice Eccles.

Of course, that was the season that BSU first went to the Fiesta Bowl, so BYU finishing 15/16 in the Coaches/AP poll didn't look that impressive.

The TCU game was a 7 pt game in the 4th qtr.  3 Turnovers were the difference in that game.  The infamous 5pm Thursday Versus game.

This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

In 2006, BY-Who went 11-2 winning @TCU by 14 and the Utes by two. Every other win was by at least 19 points and they boat raced Oregon by 30 in the Vegas Bowl.

That was a pretty damned good team.

In spite of being a Bring 'em Young hater, I am man enough to recognize that.

Running roughshod may have been a bit of an overstatement with regards to the TCU game, but it ended as a decisive victory.
