OT: MLB Playoffs

The latest playoff loss was a choke.  Losing the series the last three times to better more well rounded teams wasn’t. The Dodgers are resembling the Atlanta Braves of the 90’s.

Dodger fans were unanimous in understanding the bull pen weakness prior to the season even starting. And recognizing that it was going to bite them in the ass come playoff time. It seems like everyone but the Dodger management knew it was a problem.

At least the Braves won once. Fact is, the Dodgers should have beaten the Astros, and if not for Roberts' idiocy last year in the WS, they probably should have won that one too.

Roberts sucks as a manager...anyone halfway competent would have won at least once.

WTF, the Dodgers have won the WS 6 times. That's enough...forever! :foottap:

To be fair though, the guy they probably would have traded Lux for (Felipe Vasquez) got busted +++++ing 14 year olds so that may not have worked out for them in the long run.

This is a good point

The Dodgers were not going to beat the Red Sox in 2018.  Should they have sent it back to Fenway for a game 6?  Yes.  But fixing one Roberts brain cramp was not going to alter the result.

Bahstun was bettuh.

Right? I mean, who can do without Joc Pederson's one and only dimension?

At least Joc can hit something.  Pollock 0/13 with 11K's??

As crazy as this might sound, I do wonder why MLB teams haven't hired head coaches from the college ranks to take over as managers.  You see them occasionally leaving for the NFL and NBA.  Why not baseball?

That's true ... as long as a righthander is throwing. My left-handed 8-year-old could strike Joc out in three pitches, though. ... assuming she could get it over the plate

Gary Sanchez complaining after taking a called 3rd strike to end the Yankees 11th was rich.  The previous pitch wss not a foul tip.

One bad call balances out another
