What are looking at for the rebs this year ph?  Top 3 in the MW?  Middle of the pack?  Or bottom?

I’ll get back to you on that.  I have to research the other rosters.  The only thing I’ll say now is that there’s ZERO chance we finish last.

Really uncertain.  I would expect a 3-5 finish myself, but who knows.  I gotta believe this will be a better team than we've put on the floor the last 3 years.  Just glad to have a little hope going into this season.  We haven't had that in 3 years.

Yeah...and the NCAA will have an impact too.  Does the waiver for Tillman get accepted?  What about Boise's Akot? Are there others in the MW appealing for immediate eligibility?

CSU already had a player win an appeal for immediate eligibility - PJ Byrd, who was a backup PG at VCU last season as a freshman. While there seems to be a little NCAA Black Magic as to who gets a waiver, I think it really helps when the player has the approval/support of the previous program.

I can't even imagine why the NCAA has not rubber stamped Tillman's waiver, his mom had surgery the week before he committed. If anybody would qualify for a waiver it should be him.

Yeah. A lot of people think Boise’s Akot should get his waiver because of the scandals with Arizona - but I’m not so sure.

Don't hate me for what I'm about to say because let me first say that I think Tillman is going to be a great asset to the Rebels.  However, If the NCAA looks at how he left Utah and how he went on official visits on the other side of the Country they would have to wonder how serious he was about getting back to his mother.  From what I've read the kid tells Utah he needed a year off so he could attend his ill mother.  Utah supported him and allowed him to take a year off.  Within the first week after they granted his leave he throws his name into the transfer portal.  Then he starts recruiting trips to the other side of the Country thousands of miles away from his mother.   In this case its not going to be an easy rubber stamp.  He may get it but it wouldn't shock me if he didn't.

Well, I don't hate anyone for what they have to say, so there's that, :D. As for the recruiting visits elsewhere, how many times have we said a kid took a visit to Vegas, to get a trip to Vegas..he might say he just wanted to take advantage of his free visits, lol. But the fact remains, his mom has been sick, and I'm not sure they would get around that. But, it's the NCAA, so who knows..

The visits will be something that gets a look by whoever is questioning the "closer to his mother" aspect, but @4UNLV may be on the right track with the "taking advantage of free visits" theory....

Tillman brought his mother on his official visits and made it clear to them (and just as importantly the media) that it would be a factor how well his mother and her health could be accommodated in each of those locations.  He also turned the trips into tourist getaways for his mother, at least the ones to New Jersey and NYC.

But he did end up moving to where his mother was living, and the places he did visit were located within a few hours of places with casinos (his mother has worked in the casino industry).

The NCAA is so inconsistent, it could go either way.  It seems like a big factor is how much it looks like the player might get a lawyer involved.
