Meridian Idaho kids getting some big offers.

Neither looks like they'll end up at Boise State.

They're from that new HS and there are supposedly 2 more D1 guys on that roster.  Boise State has been on a freshman(!) and he's got an offer apparently (they were luke warm on Payne and the Liam kid was aiming higher.  It's unprecedented for an Idaho HS basketball team to have more than 1 D1 guy any given season.

Also Malek Harwell's younger brother Isiah is a freaky freshman at Pocatello's Century HS (already has a couple offers).

But Owyhee HS out in Meridian is something else.  What's in the water out there @grandjean87?

Payne - CSU commit

Campbell - sophomore with offers from Boise State, UC Santa Barbara, Portland, Montana and Montana State

Sevedra - freshman has 14,000 followers on social media from his slick moves but too small for D1 offers so far

Rasmussen - a 6'-7 freshman already has unofficially visited Boise State

Bailey - a junior could be getting some D1 interest as well

Meridian HS won boys state in Bball last year, but I didn’t follow. They won also state in wrestling.  The new school (Owyhee) cut more out of Rocky Mountain, but got some from Meridian. My brother-in-law has three granddaughters on the girls varsity at the new HS.  I’ll probably wait until next year to watch unless I get Covid soon.

Club ball has been established here for a solid decade.  The west and north areas of Meridian are prime, new growth areas.  Just a lot of new population.  A lot of folks moving in, and if they have athletic kids they seek things out. I think we’ll see this spill over for BSU football.  The area now has a much larger number of 4A and 5A programs than 20 years back.  We may catch Utah in a couple of decades as a recruiting ground.

Interesting Boise got Sandraque Nganga. He was at one time a 5 star recruit, his stock has fallen to where he’s more of a fringe top 100 guy. Seems like a good get

Wonder if most of the board has ordered their lube yet?

Huge.  But, need @ph90702 thoughts.

I looked him up.  It said he was a former five star recruit.  I figured there was a catch with him picking Boise State.  He's been injured a lot.  It's a good get if he can stay healthy.

Former top 15 guy.  Supposedly he is healthy now but the biggest names backed off him after the injuries, Boise never did.  If he can stay healthy he and Deggie should make a really good front court.

I know you get a lot of shit, but you are one of the more knowledgeable posters about BB recruits and transfers so was wondering if you might have the skinny.

I really like Tyson Degenhart.  He will average in the high teens before it's all said and done.  I'm not sure why he didn't get many offers.

He committed to Boise super early (9/2019). Then missed most of 2020 season because of Covid closing down Washington State HS sports. Plus he's undersized for a PF (and was even moreso in HS).   Boise got lucky.

Eastern Washington should be it’s own state.

I saw that Nganga was a top 100 guy, 99th by the ranking service I checked. It's good to see high level talent coming into the league. Wyoming just signed a 4 star, 59th in 2019, with 2 years of Pac 12 experience, and an elite eight appearance: Max Agbonkpolo.

It's great for the league to have teams other than SDSU signing 4 star guys since SDSU can't win in the dance.
