Very solid pick up though, Boise will be very good team next season with all these guys eligible We will see. Poor character player. That’s the best Boise State can attract which is sad tbh. 1

With Akot, Doutrive, Kigab, and (possibly) Alston there is going to be a ton of length and athleticism. Certainly more than Boise has ever had.

I wonder what affect Derrick Alston Sr.'s experience will have on his son. He was drafted 33rd overall, played 2 years in the NBA and 16 years overseas and is currently an NBA G-League coach with the Westchester Knicks. IMO Derrick Jr. still needs to gain at least 30 pounds to have the body required to play in the NBA. Not many 20 bmi guys at his position in the league. The "slim reaper" Kevin Durrant is an inch taller and 40 pounds heavier.

He just doesn't have the frame for it, but he definitely needs more than he has now. Hopefully he stays to bulk up and turns that into a 1st round draft pick. kingpotato
Doutrive listed as the 8th best transfer: https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/28167956/college-basketball-transfer-rankings-2020-21-2021-22
kingpotato
Holy Cross PG Drew Lowder is transferring. Boise listed as a possible landing spot. His high school teammate, Kesean Pryor, is a current Boise signee. He averaged 14 ppg, 3 1/2 apg, 1 spg, and shot 42% from 3 as a trFR (on a terrible team). He'd have to sit out a year, but Boise will have a lot returning in two years with Doutrive, Akot, Armus, and Shaver.
bsu_alum9
Boise just got a PWO transfer with Donovan Ivory out of UMass-Lowell. Had offers from there, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and a PWO option with Wisconsin Badgers. The 6'-5 guard averaged 20 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 assists, and 2 blocks in his senior high school season in Kaukauna, WI. Seems like a solid walk-on pickup who will have 4 years to become a contributor.

jdgaucho
UCSB was after Doutrive as a recruit. Nice pickup by Boise.
bsu_alum9
Not sure if walk-on or scholarship guy. From Spokane (Lewis & Clark HS) and then Cochise CC. Has weird form shooting the ball, but a 38% 3-pt shooter and can attack the rim better than any UNLV guy. He averaged 23.3 ppg, 8.5 reb, and 2 assists. https://www.njcaa.org/sports/mbkb/2019-20/div1/players/najesmith8r49?view=profile Should have 3 years to play 2 with immediate eligibility if needed in 2020. Great pick up. He has the size and scoring ability of RJ Williams, but with more of any outside game. They needed a guy like this on the team. Boise is going to be insanely deep next year. It's possible that two of the starters from this years team will be coming off of the bench.
