SDSU continually rises in academic stature and is now ranked considerably higher than Washington State and within the decade will pass Oregon State too.

SDSU has now defeated Pac12 schools 5 of the last 6 meetings in football and won about half the games with that conference in hoops over the last decade and is the only one of the 130 BCS schools in the process of building a new stadium.

SDSU is located in a bigger media market than five of the Pac12 schools.

But SDSU will be in the Mountain West Conference forever.

Boom goes the dynamite.

Two USC fans sitting around us at the Coliseum opined that the P12 should replace Oregon State with SDSU.

SDSU probably first needs to get out from under the CSU system however. It would be interesting to see whether an offer of P12 membership conditioned on SDSU and Cal Poly being the charter members of a new tier of California public higher ed would be enough to get that done. Prolly all come down to $$$.

USC needs an AD.  UCLA will need one soon.

If there's a worse athletic director than Dan Guerrero among power conference universities I'd like to know who it might be.

Not if a BEST OF THE REST conference is ever founded. That will depend in part on Hair getting us a competitive TV contract or not doing so. Aztec faithful deserve more but it will require more than we can do by ourselves. A conference with the  six best teams from the MW and six best from the AAC along with BYU and perhaps one other eastern school would be needed. The P5 adds teams every 15 years or so but that may be coming to an end. Especially for the PAC.

Please don't scare me with things like this. I am afraid it may be this bad or worse. What the hell is going on with our contract?  Hair said it would be done by early fall. That is 10 days from now!!!!  Or did he want to say early fall of 2020?

Or the MWC West members not named San Jose State plus USU and BYU and a school from Texas which is firmly committed to football as was TCU in 2005 leaving to form a new conference.

The front rangers don't want to be with Hawaii? Fine. My guess is UH isn't all that elated to be with them either. And just how good are the football programs at CSU and UNM?

Boom goes the dynamite.
