Harry Reid says 'Medicare for All' is loser for Dems

Calls decriminalizing illegal immigration 'open-door invitation for everybody to come'

And he said decriminalizing illegal border crossings is an odd thing for the party’s candidates to focus on.

“It should be way, way down at the bottom of the list,” Mr. Reid told the outlet in a phone interview.

Asked if it hurts Democrats with voters, Vice said he responded curtly: “of course it is.”

+++++ Harry Reid.

Decriminalizing border crossings would not be an open-door invitation, anymore than the current status of not only criminalizing immigrants, but crowding them into cages and taking their children has been a deterrent .

What's moral, is moral.  And criminalizing border crossings in this way is not moral.

Old dinosaur doesn't realize how things have changed.

This is why the Regressive democrats are going to get clobbered in the upcoming election. Their political stances are fine for New York, LA, San Francisco etc. They don't play well in Iowa, Wisconsin, Kansas, Many parts of  Michigan and Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Ohio and many more.

Here are the last national elections for reference, after 2 years of Trump.  That was last year to be clear,  with an economy that was humming.  But Democrats are going to get hammered after 2 more years of Trump's insane behavior.  Ok...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_United_States_elections

Democrats had 193 seats immediately prior to the November elections, and needed to net at least 25 seats to win a majority in the House of Representatives. In the November elections, Democrats won a net gain of 40 seats. As the elections also saw Democrats fill a couple of vacant seats that had previously been controlled by the party, the Democrats won control of a total of 235 seats, while Republicans won control of at least 199 seats.[c] The net gain of 40 seats represented the Democratic Party's largest gain in the House since the 1974 elections.[26] Democrats won the nationwide popular vote for the House of Representatives by 8.6 percentage points,[27] one of the highest margins won by either party since 1992.[24] Due in part to the surge in turnout, the total number of votes won by Democratic candidates for the House of Representatives nearly equaled the number of votes Trump won in the 2016 presidential election.[28] The 2018 elections were the third midterm elections since 2005 in which the President's party lost control of the House of Representatives.

Take a look at the candidates that picked up seats and their positions.  They were mostly moderate.  The point remains correct.

Yes, Democrats are going to lose big exactly 2 years after they picked up the most seats in 45 years, which coincided with 2 years of Trump presidency.  They are going to lose big after 2 more years of Trump in what will most likely be a weaker economy in 2020 than 2018.  And let's face it, Trump is literally losing his mind and getting crazier by the day.  But go ahead and bet on the Republicans winning more seats.

Those elections showed moderate dems play well.  Hope for Biden.

These tweets are a glimpse of what the country thinks after Trump's latest mind blowing temper tantrum.  It would actually be kind of funny if it wasn't so serious.  If he can pull it off again with his public behavior, it will say volumes about our country.

When you voted for a man who thinks he can buy other countries with your taxpayer money, then he throws a tantrum when the prime minister of the other country rebuffs him for his insult, you should wonder how could you have voted for this man. Unless you prefer unfit malignancy.

You won't get any argument from me on Trump's behavior.

Well there is the presidency and then there is Congress.  I am on record as saying Trump will be a tough out.  See Obama, Dubya, Bill, and Reagan for reference.  Only Bush Sr managed to lose in recent history.  But i'll be surprised if Dems don't pick up seats in both House and Senate, and that should be a reflection of Trump's behavior and policies.
