Seems like a transition year for the Bison.  Athlon put them #1 too I think.  They should have good depth though even with that few of returning starters.

I am also intrigued in what Hauck can do in year 2 with the Griz.  Hopefully they will show improvement

I'm hoping my home state SDSU Jackrabbits can breakthrough and win the FCS crown.  If not I'd settle for the Jack's knocking the Bison out of the playoffs.  Hate the Bizon!

I like the Jackrabbits too, and you know they've struggled with NDSU since joining the MVFC in 2008. Hopefully this will be the year they beat the Bison and win the title.

They’re still trying to figure out how their dwindling D1 talent did so poorly last year.  The new president & athletic director should right the ship in a year or two.

FWIW...  it’s about time for another winning season.  What’s it been, 4 years?

West of Montana...

In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

For a short time I had a girlfriend who lived in Brookings SD, while I lived in San Jose.  She came out to work in the cannery (when we still had a remnant of our agricultural past) and I met her there,  I flew back to see her in South Dakota.  Her dad was a mathematics professor at the university.

Cats ranked higher than Griz. That’s different.

Hasn't been recently. Montana has been pretty average recently and MSU is on a little uptick. MSU has actually won the "Brawl of the Wild" game the last three years.

Big Sky well represented. Five in the top-25 with two of them being in the top-5. They have multiple legit National Championship contenders.

What caused the Montana Grizz’s fall to mediocracy?

The season after Bobby Hauck left (the '10-'11 season) there were serious off-field problems that ended up in Montana vacating wins and getting hit with sanctions.  They have been working their way back ever since.

With Bobby Hauck's return to the Grizz it is interesting as a UNLV fan to watch their progress.  Hauck has former UNLV OC Rosenbach there, as well as Tony Sanchez' former DC Kent Baer.  At QB is former UNLV player Dalton Sneed - best known for his 99-yard touchdown scamper (run) during Tony Sanchez' first season.  Sneed was Hauck's only commit when he "resigned" at the end of his last season, and Sneed stuck around a year but was going to be buried on the QB depth chart at UNLV.

Finally tapped out on the coaching sting. Rehired Hauck who won a national championship there. They have the facilities and fanbase to get it back quickly.
