Wealthy... traditional... Who said anything about being wealthy or traditional? What I said is true... Lobo basketball fans are passionate about Lobo basketball. They will have no problem with Weir getting fired, if he doesn’t give them a winning team more regularly than not.

New Mexico is one of the poorest states in the nation. But we love Lobo basketball. You rich schools just don’t understand the words “making end meet” anymore.

Have your rich school do what we do have to do at UNM to make ends meet, and many other G5 schools also, with not even a 3rd of the money you guys get... you have no idea.

Yet UNM has 79 MWC championships vs CSU's 58.  As WYO fans says,"CSU sucks, and will suck, for a long time."

You just proved my point,  In order to be "cutthroat" or remain competitive, NM would need several wealthy donors.  They are the ones who have a major voice and can call shots as far as coaches and facilities.  NM, to put it nicely, is a bottom feeder in that category (and several others).  Sure, you can get a few guys together and make a few calls because you aren't pleased with a basketball coach.  But, unless you have money to back it up,  success will not be sustained.

The facilities at NM are so far behind in facilities in all sports not just basketball.  UNM football is currently and historically an absolute joke and the stadium is sad.  The Pit, which recently got renovated, can't fill the club seats because no one can afford them and is surrounded by bench seating.

While a MWC member, NM has been regular season champs 4 times.

I see what you did there.  We were talking about basketball and you meant all sports.  Sorry, yeah CSU doesn't have ski team or underwater basket weaving.

Get a football team and a fanbase whose average age is lower than 65.

Sorry, gave csu  too much credit.  Only 5 regular season titles on the Men's side in 20 years of the league.  Impressive!

UNM has 8 Men's basketball titles (regular season & tourney)  Csu has 1 Men's basketball tourney championship.

Speaking of outdated facilities, what's up with the fallopian tubes on your basketball court?

Apparently csu doesn't have any teams.  Five Men's championships in 20 years.  Bwahahahaha!

This bears repeating.  If Utah State defeats NM in football this year, NM will having a losing record over every. single. team in the MWC.

CSU is  playing .500 ball in your new digs. They're 10-15 the last two years.  Quite the ROI.

http://winsipedia.com/new-mexico

With stats like that, it's a wonder why anyone would want to play at Nuevo Mexico........ especially when you factor in Albuquerque is poor, crime ridden (crime rate is 218% higher than the national average), desert town with no pride in their local commuter college as you would find in a typical college town.

In defense of New Mexico their fans donate around $10 million per year and buy $6 million in tickets. That aint bad for a MWC school in fact it is better than a hell of a lot of us. They do use less school money than many of us.

I appreciate posters like you that do their research before posting.  If you look at Azinco's uneducated posts, you can clearly see that he has no idea what he is talking about.  He doesn't even know much about CSU's performance in the MWC. The majority of his posts are trolling the UNM fan base.

Why do you call him out for posting titles for all sports when this a basketball thread and then post football records? Lets see the same MWC records for hoops....
