And the NCAA hasnt published the numbers yet for 18-19.

This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

The numbers I used were from the 2018 season per the NCAA, if the numbers have not been published for the 2018-19 year so be it. The MWC ranked above the AAC which is and was a good thing also we were one of a few that showed a small overall increase which also is nice.

 Thanks bigd for the update.

Can you clarify what the columns represent?

Not a chance those are attendance numbers.  This has been discussed endless times on this board.  Schools play with the numbers, but it's always talked about as "attendance" which implies that's how many people are actually in the stadium.  See attached article, and i would guess this is the case at most all mid majors.

https://www.krqe.com/news/larry-barker/unms-phantom-fans-account-for-lively-attendance/

For example, take a look at the January 2017 men’s basketball game against Utah State. Lobo players battled the Utah Aggies before a crowd of what was reported to be 10,698 fans. Ten Thousand? Really? Not even close. In fact, the actual number of fans attending the game was inflated by 116 percent. Documents obtained through the Inspection of Public Records Act show UNM’s official count included 5,734 phantom fans who never went to the game.

At last year’s San Diego State game in March, the announced attendance included 4,352 spectators who weren’t there. When the official attendance figures for the Aztec Warrior game were announced, the Athletic Department overstated the number of fans in the arena by 45 percent.

Attendance is tickets sold, not butts in seats.  This is not news.

The Boise State numbers look accurate for butts in the seat as they sold over 6,000 season tickets in 2019. Some schools may only report tickets sold.

That would help haha. The first column is number of games, then total attendance, total home attendance, and average home attendance.

This past season is the first time in years, that UNM attendance did NOT rank in the top 25 nationwide.

I really hope you guys are able to take a big step forward this year, its sad to see how far you guys have fallen. Your fan base deserves much better.

Four years ago there was a big waiting list to get SDSU season tickets. I know because I had a plan to buy two and split them with some other folks but the ticket office told me to forget about any chance that enough people wouldn't re-up that a couple tetris squares would open up space for me.

Can't stand all the hoops bickering on AM so don't post anymore but I think those who say SDSU will never be able to buy out the remaining years on Dutcher's contract are naive. There are still three years left and I'm not advocating the guy be removed soon but the way attendance has been dropping it's very likely that two more years as disappointing as 2018-2019 will force the administration's hand.

Boom goes the dynamite.

Naw, the fan base is cutthroat. I think Weir gets this year, maybe one more... but if things don’t get any better than this past season, fans will be calling for his head and he’ll be gone.

NM is cutthroat?

I know you want to give the impression that NM is a traditional university with loads of wealthy donors, but this isn't the case.

Wealthy... traditional... Who said anything about being wealthy or traditional? What I said is true... Lobo basketball fans are passionate about Lobo basketball. They will have no problem with Weir getting fired, if he doesn’t give them a winning team more regularly than not.

New Mexico is one of the poorest states in the nation. But we love Lobo basketball. You rich schools just don’t understand the words “making end meet” anymore.

Have your rich school do what we do have to do at UNM to make ends meet, and many other G5 schools also, with not even a 3rd of the money you guys get... you have no idea.
