Everyone shot 3 feet beyond that mark anyway.

I like the shot clock change too. Nothing worse than a team getting an offensive board and then sitting on it for another 30 seconds. 20 seconds awards them, but doesn't bore everyone.

All is well, For Rice is gone.

Great. The NBA gets more pro-ready players and the college game will see even worse 3%

I'm hoping that it creates more offensive motion and more of a mid range game but you are correct.  Probably just more of the same except from a further distance and less shots will be made.

This is good for basketball.  A lower made percentage from three emphasizes the other aspects of the game more.

Don't count on the make percentage going down very much.

Also, coaches can call live ball timeouts during the last two minutes of the second half or overtime.

And a technical foul will be assessed if a player uses derogatory language about an opponent’s race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender expression, gender identify, sexual orientation or disability.

It doesn't have too.

Most paint players score at 50% meaning 10 points on 10 shots.

For the 3 to be an advantage you must make 33+% (9+ points on 10 shots) Currently the rate is 35%.

Simply pushing the percentage back down to 30% forces balance into the game mathematically.

By increasing the area inside the arc they open up the interior driving and mid range jumper. This will create more space and advantage for small quick drivers and long athletic wings who have a strong pull up game, while not hurting post players by maintaining their space in the paint and still forcing the defenders to make life difficult on deep shots.

Teams who play quick and aggressive on offense will see scoring increases, defensive teams who communicate well and have a rim protector will thrive.
