BY THE MID 22ND CENTURY REPLICANTS HAD INFILTRATED EVERY FACET OF HUMAN SOCIETY AND IN 2187 TOOK IT ALL DOWN IN A NUCLEAR EXTINCTION LEVEL EVENT.

Ok we'll go with nine - This one’s a little different – please let me know if you see any mechanics issues that I didn’t think through or forgot something (It wasn’t looking like we’d get enough players so I never flushed out the original idea, so just banged most of this out this morning) Also, things might be tweaked between now and tomorrow so if I make any changes I'll post.

By the mid 22nd Century, Replicants (biological artificial humans with autonomous AIs) had infiltrated every facet of human society and in 2187 took it all down in a nuclear extinction level event. Following the saturation of Earth with radioactive fallout, a handful of survivors evacuated to a space station in the hopes of waiting out the contamination and someday returning to the surface. They know there are some survivors underground planet-side. The station is a relic of the long defunct US Space Force from the early 21st Century which was secretly armed with enough nuclear missiles to destroy every known post-apocalyptic settlement on the planet. Twice, it’s been discovered that the station was attempting to target known bunkers on the ground, but each time a member of the crew was able to detect and abort the launch command.  For the two players who discovered the targeting order, it’s become a stunning revelation that not only are they the only thing that can stop the complete annihilation of the human race, they are the only humans among the station survivors. Everyone else is a replicant and in order to defeat them, they need to blend in and secretly take them out one replicant at a time.

 

During the global attack, the replicant network was destroyed so the replicants are only aware of themselves and have no way of telling the difference between replicant and human. The only way to tell the difference is autopsy using the automated med bay on the station.

 

The two human survivors have temporarily locked the launch controls and are in secret communication with each other using an encrypted backdoor in their sleeping pods. The humans also conveniently found the code for a virus that they can send through their terminals to any one targeted replicant which will overload the replicant’s system and shut it down. However, they can only access the terminals during the station’s sleep phase (night) and can only communicate using morse code. Each night, they can target a replicant and decide which of them will use their terminal to upload the virus to their target.

 

Roles

Replicants X 7

·      One Spy – The spy has access to an implanted communication device that can intercept partial messages in the form of morse code sent between the two surviving humans when their secret chat is open during the night phase. These broken messages will be received by the spy each morning. Additionally, if the sympathetic replicant is targeted by the humans, the spy will receive a signal of unknown origin and thereafter gain the ability to scan a target each night to see if they are the Symp (this ability is immune to the distractor’s power).

·      One Suicide Assassin – During the night phase, the assassin can target any one player and blow itself up, killing both. It will not explode if attacked, unless its attacker was also its target. If the assassin is lynched, they will have a brutal option to blow themselves up and take any one target with them.

·      One Distractor – Can target any one player at night to distract them. If the target has a night action, that action is neutralized. Can’t distract the same target consecutively.

·      Three regular Replicants with no powers, however, if the spy dies, the spy’s abilities will be passed on to a randomly selected replicant, but they will not receive any of the previously intercepted intel.

·      One Sympathetic Replicant. If this replicant is targeted for elimination by the survivors during the night phase they convince the attacker that they will help them. The Symp then learns the identities of the humans, but does not have access to their private chat, and still counts as a replicant for parity purposes, but only wins with the humans. If they are never targeted then they win with the replicants.

·      Replicants must eliminate all humans for a win.

 

Human Survivors X 2

·      One Brutal (the brutal human possesses a tablet with the virus code which is pre-set to shut down any one target upon their death).

·      *The survivor chat will only be available to the survivors during the night phase. Random pieces of what they say in the chat will be intercepted by the replicant spy, but due to processing times the spy won’t have access to those messages until the Day Phase.

·      The survivors can target one player each night to eliminate. While there are two of them, they must decide each night who the attacking survivor is.

·      Survivors must reach a 1:1 ratio vs the replicants for a win.

 

“Deaths” will reveal faction only.

 Players who are targeted will be informed of the action.

Since the “wolves” (human survivors) can only chat at night, night will always be one full hour (as opposed to ending night phase early once all actions are received)

The human survivors don’t have to speak in morse code in their private chat, but everything they say will be translated to the spy in randomly selected, broken morse code. (I’ll be using this morse code translator: https://mattfedder.com/blog/ham/MorseTranslater)

Night action order: Distractions, Spying, Assassination, Night Kills

All times Pacific and based on the forum’s time stamp.

Day Phase: 9:00pm-8:00pm (Lynch deadline 8:00pm daily – 8:01 does not count)

Night Phase: 8:00pm-9:00pm

SOP on the rest:

·       No editing of posts for any reason

·       No quoting of PM’s received from the Mod

·       No discussion of the game anywhere outside this thread or in-game chats

·       No personal attacks

·       “Dead” players will join dead chat and cannot post in the main thread

·       Questions for the moderator in the main thread should be in red font (to be sure I see them)
