Forgot all about Rypien - Surprised some team didn't grab him

Not me...He was maybe the 5th best QB in the MWC.

NFL draft is the most overrated event in all of pro sports - All these evaluations, slicing and dicing the data & information and analysis..............and it's pretty much a crap shoot from the first pick to the last.

Arguably the best QB in the history of the NFL was a 6th round pick / 199th player selected in the 2000 draft

Hawaii was one of a handful of Non power conference schools to get 2 or more players drafted. The rest of the MWC shit the bed.

Rypien will always be Mr. MWC to me.

So glad Boise kept him and let Mr Finley move on.

Rypien had the more marketable name for Boise's strategic goals.

Do you know how life works? You know that Boise gave the starting QB position to Finley over Rypien when they had the choice, right?

You know who doesn’t know how life works? Bryan Harsin. Boise deserves better than his measly single NY6 bowl victory and paltry nine wins a year. He is responsible for Finley. #Fireharsin

How does it work for AFA cadets that get drafted WRT to their military service? Do they defer their active duty obligation?

Well, SDSU had one draftee, which IIRC means we've had at least one for 9 of the last 10 years. We would have had two but for OL Ryan Pope being such a knucklehead. I saw that somebody signed the kid as a free agent and since he certainly has the size and ability to make an NFL roster, if some veteran can take the guy under his wing and get him to stop committin personal fouls when opposing players piss him off, he could stick.

Edit: You have to wonder about the quality of Boise's QB coach. Rypien was a 4-star recruit and 4-year starter with a ton of physical ability, an uncle who won a Super Bowl and some very good receivers to throw to but he wasn't even drafted? Are you effing kidding me? Did he coach the kid DOWN?

Boom goes the dynamite.
