Jordan is a number 1 media hall of famer.

Anyone who has watched any play in the NBA can name 20 players arguably better than Jordan.

Both Bird and Magic were far better defenders who could defend more positions.,   Both made their teams better which Jordan didn't.    Both could score as much as Jordan if they wanted to but they didn't want to compromise the team like Jordan.

Kareem was so far and away the best player ever they passed rule after rule to slow him down.   They never passed any rules to slow Jordan down because he wasn't that good.   Kareem could dunk from the free throw line taking two steps so they had to put the line around the free throw line.   Jordan is famous for dunking from the free throw line running from the other side of the court and he still couldn't do it.  HA! HA! HA! HA!    They created the zone defense rules for chamberlin and Kareem.

Under today's rules Kareem would block 10 shots a game.

Jordan is nothing but a media creation.

Are you trying to win the Troll Derby in one topic?   Bird and Magic were better defenders than Jordan?  Wow...

Hmmm....

Magic: zero NBA Defense honors

Bird: 3 time NBA All-D 2nd team

Jordan: 9 time NBA All-D 1st team and 1 time NBA Defensive Player of the Year.

All those sports writers who actually cover the NBA are morons HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA !!!!

Jordan and Pippen might be the all time best duo of defenders at their positions.  They could essentially lock down teams from point guard to shooting guard to small forward.  I know Jordan made a lot of 1st all NBA, didn't realize it was 9.  Maybe blues009 is just joking.  Bird on defense as a comparison?  Really?  Ditto for Magic.  Those guys were awesome, all time great players, but certainly not because of their defense.

And then for their 2nd 3-peat you add Dennis Rodman (7 time All-D 1st team) and Ron Harper (who became a great perimeter defender after he joined the Bulls).

In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

How many times did Jordan guard the center position in the NBA finals?

We all know he couldn't guard Isiah Thomas he got owned constantly.    That was with the rules where he could hold and bump now days he would be totally worthless.

Some things are pretty obvious.

Oh, and as to Game 6 of the 1980 Finals, Magic didnt play the middle on defense that day.  That would be Jim Chones, who normally played PF next to Jabbar that series.  Magic took Caldwell Jones, who was offensively useless to begin with.  So the answer to the question is 'Same number of times Magic did'.

I think the second 3peat had a better team, but at the same time Jordan and Pippen had already made it and were superstars.  The one that got over the hump vs Detroit and started the run was probably my favorite of that era.  The best part was the Pistons walking off the court with their heads down before the game even ended and not even glancing at the Bulls, much less shaking hands.  Classic.  Isaiah Thomas never lived that down and was blackballed from the Olympic Dream Team supposedly.

I appreciate all the dynasties and super teams from the 80's until now.  The Kareem and Magic Lakers, The Bird and McHale Celtics, the Jordan Pippen Bulls, the Tim Duncan Spurs, the Kobe Shaq Lakers, the current Warriors.  They have all had awesome runs.
