“High ranking insiders” are wrong, misinformed,  and biased all the time. This is a situation where the basic facts are all you need to know. I will leave a 5% probability that Gonzaga coaches simply lost their ever lovin’ minds and turned Jenkins down for the (chance?) at some high profile recruit. A temporary case of 5 star fever?

Not. Very. Likely.

Definitely not the Zags MO, as well as it would be a huge gamble that’s a long shot to pay off. Kinda like playing Blackjack and you hit on your 20 cause you have a ‘really good feeling’ the next card is an Ace.

I told you 100% what happened; Gilder and Jenkins visited on the same weekend supposedly they both committed because we thought they would both be eligible for 2019 and when it turned out that Jenkins was only 2020, we backed off. Again, I could not care less if you don’t believe me

Because his coach left; see Tate Martell as exhibit A. The NCAA is giving out waiver exemptions like ecstasy at a rave.

Then the Zags were dreaming and wishing and praying.  Like I said.  No one in Las Vegas was that naive.

EDIT:  I searched the Spokane area newspaper and even they said he was going to sit a year.  http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2019/may/18/south-dakota-state-transfer-david-jenkins-who-had-/

That tells me Zag fans are talking shit.

I don’t, I’m sorry. Jenkins was never going to commit without visiting his former coach and UNLV first. I kind of thought (and stated on here) that I was afraid he might end up committing to the zags, but not before he at least visited here, he thinks too much of Otzelberger.

Where does this nonsense that Gonzaga was hoping for a transfer waiver with Jenkins come from? Everyone knew he was going to sit out a year.

I saw Jenkins play in person in Reno.  He is stocky but probably not 6'2 ..Maybe closer to 6'....He had an off night shooting but he did rebound well.  He is not really a point guard and he really struggled defensively against the Nevada guards.  I think he will have value as a spot up 3 point specialist.  I think the guards UNLV have now are better all around..

well, somebody had to come up with a reason as to why he didn’t choose the zags.

No, everyone did not know that. I already posted the reasoning. Several players have gotten NCAA waivers simply because their coach changed; see Tate Martell as Exhibit A. He wanted to be a Zag, he's from Washington. If he didn't have to sit out a year he would be. Anyway, I'm just repeating myself at this point. You don't believe me, I don't care. He's a good get for you guys, congrats.

Matt Mooney, the best grad transfer in college basketball last year that led Texas Tech to the national championship game transferred  from the summit league and had better numbers at Texas Tech than he did at South Dakota.

Weird how colleges seem to inflate players heights - Saw where one of UNR's twins measured up at 6-4 and not 6-7 as UNR had him..............and I can vouch that Warren Rosegreen who was listed as 6-5 or 6-6 is about 6-3.5 tops as we shared offices and he's pretty much eye to eye with my 6-2 (in shoes)

A long while back I stood near Adrian Dantly (Utah Jazz) and he was around 6-4 not the 6-7 he's listed.........same with Charles Barkley

At UNLV's graduation yesterday, I walked right by Juiston and he's 6-4 to 6-5 tops

Shawn Marion was also a couple inches shorter than he was listed at, but still a fantastic rebounder.

The height "projecting" happens by high school, coaches listing players at the height they expect to grow to be "with shoes".  The listing does matter for getting recruiting notice.

By college it seems like schools allow players to choose what height/weight they should be listed at.  After that, the agents have a say and they don't care what the combine official measurements are.

Typical, every time someone disagrees they get insulted. I don’t know why they even engage you when you always turn it into a pissing contest.

They engaged.

Nice try.

Just post about UNLV qd, not me.

You will have a better time.

Jenkins to Gonzaga on the condition he gets a transfer waiver was not mentioned prior to his commitment to UNLV.  Where in the world did you get that from?

I dont think heights are exaggerated all the time. Most time theyre accurate or maybe off 5".

Although Cody is now being listed as 6'5 by some nba outlets. So that was weird.

Last time I checked 11 is more than 8, and 8 is more than 4.

Yes he did.

You are 100% wrong.

As usual.

I think you guys might be getting a surprise commit shortly in David Jenkins who was a heavy lean for us but apparently we may be landing someone really big and didn’t want to run the risk of losing him because we signed Jenkins instead. The rumor is we may be getting Deishen Nix and having him re-classify to 2019.

Where do the words “Transfer Waiver” appear in this post?
