UCLA would have to offer $5 million per year for him to leave.

They have that kind of money, they are shooting for the moon. I said a month ago they were targeting Bennett.

I don't see why UCLA would be interested in Matta

Because they want to win? But read I think on Sports Nation they like his recruiting style and believe he would have a higher ceiling at UCLA rather than Ohio St.

I thought the fan base was going to meltdown if a week or two went by and MM was not fired.

He was fired the day after the season concluded.

Now the fan base is probably going to meltdown if no one is named after Thursday has come and gone.

Like seriously melt down.

Locked and loaded!

I could see that. UCLA is like UNLV in that they are only one great coaching hire away from becoming relevant.

So far we've got real nothing in the way of BIG NAMES that warrant anywhere close to $2.8M per.............and the current roster is potentially thinning

Not that things can't change for the hoped for in a short time........but it's pretty much down to wishing, hoping and finger crossing for UNLV fans at the moment

Maybe it is Matta out of the blue later this week, he comes in gets some current guys to stay, cuts some loose and gets to recruiting

So... all dressed up and no one to blow?

Here is how things have changed. When UCLA hired Steve Alford, Gregg Marshall at Wichita St was one of their favorites but Marshall didn't want to interview while the tournament was going on, and at that point UCLA turned to Alford.

The Thursday deadline was always wishful thinking and speculation...

So is/was believing Thad Matta would not collect the remainder of his buyout to take a job that pays about a million less than his last one.

Thad can get a job whenever he chooses to.

Well, Loyola just lost to Creighton in a 1st round NIT game 61-70.

So if its Moser, it shouldnt take long.

I'd piss myself with shock if it turned out to be Moser, and i would truly wear black for the Rebels.

That ain't Menzies-like, that's turdshit on a platter. I give credit where credit is due, that is a great run in 2018, but the body of work is just...it's not good. Menzies has a respectable body of work, it just wasn't going to work at UNLV.
