Trump will sign Spending Bill AND Declare National Emergency

Well, you do have two posters calling for impeachment and removal. It would be shocking to hear that from the immoral and unethical pillar party, right?

I bet it would no different.  Because there is no difference.  Behaviorally similar, just the behavior is based on different objectives.

I think he was boxed in here. I think trump told him or he very strongly believed that trump would not sign the spending bill if he didn't support him on the national emergency. As of last week he was telling trump not to declare a national emergency.

This could blow up for them big time. If he declares a NE, the house will vote to over rule it, the senate will be forced to vote on overruling it,forcing every senator to endorse this or not. Some of them will be put in a tough spot they don't want to be. It will only take a couple gop senators to turn to over rule the NE. Should be interesting.

Yes, let’s not forget McConnel is getting conservative ideas through in spite of the fact that he has Trump starting fires all the time. Can you imagine what he could do if there was at the very least a halfway not a complete goddamn moron running the show? The guy works with the tools he has. He keeps the show going by juggling babies and chainsaws in a tight rope, and still gets decent reviews even when the circus master is constantly throwing puppies to the lions.

We’re all sitting in the dugout. Thinking we should pitch. How you gonna throw a shutout when all you do is bitch.

I was listening to a podcast the other day where the guests were discussing the GND and the Wall as both examples of how each political party has embraced its own form of utopianism. Sounds about right to me.

So the lefts Utopia is clean energy and no pollution and the right's Utopia is no brown people?

All utopias are equally scary. Don't kid yourself.

Planning is an exercise of power, and in a modern state much real power is suffused with boredom. The agents of planning are usually boring; the planning process is boring; the implementation of plans is always boring. In a democracy boredom works for bureaucracies and corporations as smell works for skunk. It keeps danger away. Power does not have to be exercised behind the scenes. It can be open. The audience is asleep. The modern world is forged amidst our inattention.

Trump World is dystopic. It's overrun by dark-skinned rapists, criminals and drug runners and is very, very dangerous.

Utopia and dystopia are mutually constitutive. One can't exist without the other.

There are 31 national emergencies currently in effect (including 9 under Obama). Most of them have to do with meddling in the Middle East....But no one cares about that.

The crisis at the border isn't manufactured. Democrats refuse the face the spectre of human, drug, and sex trafficking happening unchecked at the border. It's a real problem polluting this country with violent crime and drugs. With that in mind, I think Trump is justified declaring this a national emergency.

But I don't 100% support Trump's judgement here. Going this route could be dangerous if a Democratic president exploits it as a legal precedent for something as stupid as the Green New Deal.

His best bet was using 10 USC 284 to declare parts of the border drug corridors in order to get the dough for the wall.

Bullshit. I live and work on the border. It's nowhere near as bad as the loons like Hannity make it out to be. A wall won't stop a damn thing and anyone with half a brain knows it. The Pandora's Box that this opens up can't be closed. You can bet your ass that the next Dem President will use this to force batshit crazy gun control measures.

Well when we have posters calling for Harris’s removal in a few years for the same thing, I’ll grant you your point. I don’t expect it to happen.

And when nobody says anything now, trying to force the GOP to upbraid or remove Trump over this, it will be all their fault. We’ll have it a coming.

Well, I pretty much guarantee despite some peripheral whining less than 5% of Republicans are going to vote against Trump in 2020, so what's the point.

Well, you're one of the very few if this is true. I commend you for it but wonder why 90%+ of your party seems to lend unconditional support.

The question is will enough Senators vote against Nacho Duce... ...I can't see how they'll get enough to stop him.

It'll be settled in the courts, there's literally no way more than a handful of Republican senators support a motion to disapprove.

Exactly, Obama using executive orders to oppose congressional legislation on immigration is no different than Trump doing it.  Both are wrong and both will lead to horrible problems especially problems with our individual rights down the road.   We have a government and a country going authoritarian by the day, and going down this road, ignoring congress and ignoring the constitution.   Means we will turn into Venezuela.

I'm tired of watching both parties shit on the Constitution. At least the Dems are honest about their disdain for it. Republicans pay lip service and then wipe their asses with it. The Clown in Chief doesn't give a phuck about anything but his oversized ego. He's an idiot, but he's a dangerous idiot. It's time invoke the 25th Amendment.

They only need a couple if all the dems vote against it(or more accurately for the overturn of the NE). All the dems will vote to overturn and it only has to be a majority. At least from everything I've seen about it. Have to think there will be a couple with long range vision or a couple that just got elected and know they have plenty of time to bounce back from pissing off the Trump base.
