The New Democratic Party

Jack, you're saying that the left "hates America" and you're talking about "rhetoric from the left.... hate based".

Don't you think that it is you who is doing the identity politics and that it is you who is "imposing will" on people?

How is just wanting to be left alone identity politic?   I can accept organic change in America but the central planning your new party wants has proven to be a thing of countless failure. It is the politics of resentment and hatred.

Dont you think it is you who wants to be part of the cool crowd who thinks you can solve everyone's problems?

You are naive if you think you will be let into their club.

Couldn't care less about Ted Cruz, or whatever song he wrote.

I think given that Ted Cruz's dad is named Rafael, and he is Rafael as well, so it makes sense he goes by his middle name.  Ted Cruz is a turd, I agree.

But please.... you really defending "Beto" O'Rourke giving himself a Mexican nickname?    He's Irish.   I guess as the cool kids say, he is "guilty" of cultural appropriation, then....   The fact he went by Robert growing up, and is not a "Beto" after entering politics is funny, to say the least.    Preschool photo, notwithstanding.  I guess, there should be a lot more "Buddys" running around too---apparently one of the most common nicknames for little boys.  Someone find a preschool picture with a "Buddy" shirt....

Point remains.... The Democrats WILL NOT nominate a white candidate, unless said candidate can somehow make himself/herself into a racial minority.  Beto gets extra credit for being creative, at least.   Being a white candidate is a "poison pill" in any Democratic Presidential Primary.

I was curious about the origins for both of them, and here's what I found...

So you were correct about the name change to distinguish from a relative, it was just reversed. That being said, there's nothing wrong with deciding to go by a different name if you're being teased for yours.

Jack, are you serious? "THE LEFTIST COAST PEOPLE HATE AMERICA AND WANT TO CHANGE IT FROM WHAT THE GOOD OLD FASHIONED AMERICANS WANT" is as explicit identity politics than anything the Democrats do. It's just your identity so you buy in hook, line, and sinker. For that matter, many of the things that the democratic party is trying to change with federal legislation (or as you for some reason choose to call it, "central planning") are problems that were caused by "central planning" in the first place. The amount of fossil fuels we burn? Caused by FHA loans directly backed by the federal government and made to create the sprawling suburb-scapes we see. Renewed segregation and economic inequality? Aided and abetted by the early FHA rules that excluded anyone of color, creating lily white suburbs and "diverse" city centers where minorities were left behind. Coal fired power plants are legacy power plants abetted by the total lack of research in to nuclear in the last what, 50 years? Economic inequality is seen as a result of trickle down economics which is absolutely "central planning" as you put it.

Jack, do you ever care to critically analyze your positions with the same eye that you are using on "The New Democratic Party"?

What club, Jack? What are you talking about? Thinking that you are a dumbass is a long, long, long ways from being a Democratic Socialist.

Remember that every argument you have with someone on MWCboard is actually the continuation of a different argument they had with someone else also on MWCboard.

I'll ask YOU this. Have you ever actually lived where more than a small handful of residents speak Spanish? See this about El Paso: https://www.areavibes.com/el+paso-tx/demographics/

My brother is named Peter and typically refers to himself as Pete but even before he married a Mexican-American woman, we often called him Pedro since Latin nicknames are so common here in SoCal. I mean, with due respect, you act like you've fully bought into the cultural appropriation idea. IMO, that concept is beginning to become the new race card. In other words, both have a valid basis but both are too often being used as aces up their sleeve by debate players who can't win through playing fairly.

As to your final point, I've always indicated that I don't agree with you that a white candidate can't win the Democratic primary. In fact, although I don't want him to do so, polls show the nomination would be Biden's to lose if he was to run.

Boom goes the dynamite.

Is Stunner the Cesar Millan or the John Edward of American racial politics?

Only time will tell.

Planning is an exercise of power, and in a modern state much real power is suffused with boredom. The agents of planning are usually boring; the planning process is boring; the implementation of plans is always boring. In a democracy boredom works for bureaucracies and corporations as smell works for skunk. It keeps danger away. Power does not have to be exercised behind the scenes. It can be open. The audience is asleep. The modern world is forged amidst our inattention.

The" club "is made up of the elitists....to be fair there are elitists in both parties, and none are conservative.

I disapprove of all of them, you approve of the leftists and beleive they are nobel . Then despise conservative thought.

As we have found out, the new dems have to try to hide their agenda.

I remember a dem party that represented the working man....well, no more.  The new dems represent the rich and the poor and doesnt give a shit about the working man.

To answer your question, Si.

And I'm not talking about normal people like your brother.

I'm talking about fake politicans that will say anything to get elected, and are pretty transparent in their fakeness.   Yesterday we had Kamala Harris going on a black radio station telling the hosts that she smoked Marijuana and listened to Snoop Dogg and Tupac in college.   Problem is she graduated in 1986---years before Snoop and Tupac were even around.   It's fake stuff.   Beto (and Ted Cruz) are both phoney baloneys too.  Same with Mitt Romney: "I like to hunt small vermin".

Wait, your argument is that elitists aren't conservative? Jack, the elitists are the ones with the most to lose and the least to gain by change. History and just basic thought shows us that elites tend to be the most conservative in society.

I "approve" of leftists? Jack, I said that their policies are based on what they think will make their lives better instead of "america hate". They're as noble as anyone else- they want the system to work better for them.

What do you mean, "the new dems have to hide their agenda"? AOC posted her agenda on the internet wide and clear. Rashida Talib says with no minced words what she thinks.

Jack, the democrats represent areas with high property values/high density and republicans represent the opposite. That's just what we've ended up with as parties. Doesn't have much to do with "working man" - as if anyone in this country doesn't work, anyway?

Some Democrats on here have objected to my pointing out how race is a big part of the Democratic Party selection process----not sure why.....

It's like they don't want to admit that Identity Politics (Race being the biggest thing) is a huge thing in the Democratic Party.    Why?    Selection on the merits doesn't matter---the candidates are all the same.

I'm simply saying what most Democrats actually know is true.   The Democrats (especially the party officials) are going to push a racial minority candidate in the next election.  It's their best (only?) hope of winning.  Look at AOC---she only won her primary based on using race (she beat the white, very liberal incumbent, by emphasizing he was white).

If you don't believe me, sit back and watch it happen.

You've been outraged out me ever since I insulted George Will----not sure why Republicans like you get so upset about my discussing Democratic Primary strategies.

Why are you so upset that I point out that the Democrats are going to run a minority (probably African American) candidate?   Why are you so triggered and uncomfortable about this?

You need to get a clue.

Presidential Politics is about finding a candidate who can win----especially in the Democratic Party, where leaked emails showed that the Democratic Party bosses favored certain candidates over others, and actively tried to subvert the candidacies of certain candidates in the Democratic Primary.

It's going to happen again.

And this is why the Democrats won't risk it:

http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2017/05/12/black-voter-turnout-fell-in-2016-even-as-a-record-number-of-americans-cast-ballots/

They can't have black voters sitting home in Rust Belt states again.

The proven strategy to get black voters voting is getting a black candidate.  Identity Politics is very important to the success of the Democratic Party.

I simply made a statement of fact - that the results of the election will reveal your projections as either those of someone who clearly has his fingers on the pulse of the American minority voter or of the internet message board equivalent of a cold reader who has been parodied on various adult animated comedy television programs. So I would be interested in an actual explanation on how that statement is untrue and/or in any way a reflection of me being triggered, without a clue or outraged because you were a meanie weenie to a mild-mannered Pulitzer prize winner.

TRIGGER ALERT!!!:

First, you need to find better videos.   Come on....search Youtube.  At least find something witty or funny.  Maybe get something from the Simpsons?  King of the Hill?

Second, get over my insulting George Will.   Guy is boring.

Third, right now the only PLAUSIBLE Democratic candidates for President are Corey Booker or Kamala Harris----No one else meats (or meets) the requirement (they gotta be African American) !!!

This was started by one one-line, throwaway aside that referenced a couple South Park episodes, and here we are with you getting defensive and digging in to your sage-like prognosticating. Who is the one who was triggered here? I thought you were doing a B-minus troll job. Apparently you are being serious and sincere. Sorry, dude. I'll back off questioning your knowledge of racial politics in America. I'm sure it's spot on. But hey, even if it's not, what is a place like this for other than to let people say what they believe without being told they're a dum-dum all the time? Honest apologies. I misread your intentions.

Ha!

Yes, I am ALWAYS serious here.   Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!!

You'll see.   You'll see!!!!

As a former proud Democrat (now an Independent, leaning in favor of the Coffee Baron right now), I'm curious to see which African American candidate the Democrats pick.

Wait, your argument is that elitists aren't conservative? Jack, the elitists are the ones with the most to lose and the least to gain by change.  Elitists want change, their way.  They sincerely believe we do not know what is good for us. Perhaps the best example is Hillary's "deplorable' s" comment. She clearly meant it.

History and just basic thought shows us that elites tend to be the most conservative in society. I do not know what your definition of "conservative" (not talking social conservatism)  is but one of the basics is that a conservative should believe that one should live and let live, and not want to impose rules on someone else that you don't want to live by. the hypocrisy of the elites is stunning.  I honestly believe you admire them for their "intelligence".

I "approve" of leftists? Jack, I said that their policies are based on what they think will make their lives better instead of "america hate". They're as noble as anyone else- they want the system to work better for them....Bullshit.   Do not deny that one of the great motivators in our political belief is hatred or resentment of other classes. I can relate to this personally, once upon a time when I realized that I was full of resentment,  I then grew up and took care of myself. We have a political system being built on punishing groups, best example is Obama's statement: "Reward our friends and punish our enemies" to a minority group.

YOU CANNOT DENY the new democratic party now advocates more for illegal immigrants than the American citizen.  The party smells voters.

What do you mean, "the new dems have to hide their agenda"? AOC posted her agenda on the internet wide and clear. Rashida Talib says with no minced words what she thinks. The first tendency is to be radical and to centrally plan change.  Her first comments had to be scrubbed because it smacked of socialism and the Dems had to hide it.  Again, how is destroying the economy going to make our lives better? It is a pie in the sky dream that eco central planning will succeed and not a market based change

Jack, the democrats represent areas with high property values/high density and republicans represent the opposite. That's just what we've ended up with as parties. Doesn't have much to do with "working man" - as if anyone in this country doesn't work, anyway?   Thats fine...the dems should use their local systems to make their lives better (Chicago) , not the federal system to impose their disastrous will on the rural states.
