#5 Nevada @ Loyola Chicago - Sweet 16 Rematch

Recommended Posts

They've definitely taken a major step back this year, but it will be our first test playing in a tough environment against a good team. Looking forward to the game.

I’ve been waiting for this one for a long time.  First non-neutral court road contest.  I think we win this one by at least 10.

Think they'll need to keep the crowd quiet for that. Gym looks like it can get loud at capacity. Senior heavy team should be able to drown most of it out, but can see some players getting frustrated. Can't let the crowd rattle them.

I've noticed they're not even ranked.  I don't follow and absent some research on my part, did they like lose all of their starters?

No, they returned almost everyone. Last March they were a team that knew who they were, played tough D, and played cold blooded at the end of games. It was everything we love about team sports, the sum being greater than the parts. But that was them at their best. They could also get blown out by 30 to Boise. They haven’t reached the level of cohesion they had later in the year.

Losses to Boston College and Furman(!) aren’t looking that bad so far. Those two of won some solid games.

We’re all sitting in the dugout. Thinking we should pitch. How you gonna throw a shutout when all you do is bitch.

This is the first of 3-4 games where we find out if we really are a top ten team.

I don't think we're as good as our ranking, but we are really good.

It's going to be an interesting couple of weeks.

Small gym and it will raucous. I'm a bit concerned the 3-ball won't be dropping. Thankfully the team has been in Chicago since Sunday so they have been getting practice time in the arena.

The game is sold out but fans getting to the game may be the real challenge, the roads and travel is nasty in Chicago. Maybe not as bad today?

It's Chicago. You don't have to drive to get anywhere. The red line literally stops at loyola's campus.

Are those the guys who were paying Tark?

Nah,  they had guys for something that small.  They were too busy running the casinos and paying the politicians. The guy with the little girl touching his knee is Tony "Joe Batters" Accardo, arguably the most powerful mob boss in US history.  BTW, that little girl is most likely the Bosa brother's mom.
