This will mark the first meeting ever between UNLV and Oakland in men’s basketball

UNLV has only ever played one team from the Horizon League, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, That game took place in 1966, a 68-67 UNLV February home win

Oakland (0-2) opened the season with a one-point loss at home to Toledo (87-86), then fell in overtime at home to Western Michigan (85-77) on Tuesday

The Golden Grizzlies returned three letterwinners, including one starter, from last year’s team

Oakland was picked to finish fourth in this year’s league standings in the preseason poll

The Runnin’ Rebels (1-1) have been led in scoring so far this season by senior forward Shakur Juiston (9.0 ppg). Juiston and sophomore forward Mbacke Diong are the tied for the team lead in rebounds (6.5 rpg)

Since the 3-point field goal was adopted by the NCAA in 1986-87, UNLV has converted at least one 3-pointer in all 1,041 games played.

The 2018-19 season marks the 36th year of Runnin’ Rebel basketball in the Thomas & Mack Center. UNLV has posted an all-time record of 479-119 (.801) in the arena since it opened in 1983

UNLV is holding its opponents to scoring just 56.0 points per game so far this season. That is tops in the Mountain West and ranks 28th in the nation

As a team, UNLV is 35th in the country in blocks per game with 6.0

Get there early so you don't need to park across the street. I hope you already have your tickets.

Doubt finding parking will be a problem - Oakland isn't a draw and VGK skate at the same time down the street

Should be an intimate gathering of around 4000 (maybe)

Not paying attention. Did Gorman lose?

No.  They realigned the southern regions.  Gorman is now in the Desert Region.  They will be playing Liberty in a week for the Desert Region championship.  Winner of that game will go to the State Championship to face next week's winner of the State Semifinal between the Mountain Region champ vs the Northern Region champ.

Forgot to post this from earlier this week ......but it's not good when UNLV Hockey is calling out UNLV Basketball over attendance :foottap:

How much are those tickets? Do they sell beer at City National Arena?

Been to a lot of DU Hockey games, 4-5 games were the same price as one Avalanche game in Denver.

Apples to nails really

1) UNLV hockey is a "CLUB" team so it's not really official NCAA sport

2) CNA seats much less that the T&M obviously so a photo od 100 people looks much more crowded

3) Probably zero concessions, but there is a bar & restaurant right between the rinks - https://www.citynationalarenavegas.com/    https://www.mackenzieriverpizza.com/las-vegas/

4) Tickets are probably minimal cost for UNLV Hockey vs UNLV BB https://rebelhockey.com/tickets/
