The country can't remember what happened last week anymore.

The country should be able to remember since every week the last 22 months has started and ended with the fake president saying something stupid.

Honestly, you could probably extend that to every day instead of every week.

If we were in the good old days, before all this voting in primaries nonsense, and the candidate was selected in a smoky back room, who do you think the Dems would pick in 2020?

We’re all sitting in the dugout. Thinking we should pitch. How you gonna throw a shutout when all you do is bitch.

Someone might make noise but Trump won't be primaries. I honestly think he wins re-election unless the economy tanks between now and 2020 (which it certainly could). As far as 2024 goes, Flake would be a good candidate. So would Haley and Sandoval.

For 2020, I think the Dems should go with some relative unknown like Tulsi Gabbard or Beto if they want any shot at winning. They need to do something different because Liz Warren and the like don't have national appeal and Biden is too old and wouldn't fire up the young socialists who make up a good deal of the electorate.

Did you just say Flake would be a good candidate???????? WTF?  He would be one of the very first to drop out of the primary with support in the lower single digits, probability 1% to 3%. If he went third party, he’d do a little better but not a lot. He may get some Indy’s, a few rare moderate Dems, and a few never-Trumpers.

Trump got elected because Hillary was such a terrible candidate. He’s going to have to do much better to win again. Getting up around a 40% approval amongst blacks will certainly help, but he’s just too horribly deficient with women to have any chance unless that changes.

Is Flake going to run as a democrat?  Because as a republican he'd be lucky to win Arizona.

He could run as an independent if his main goal is to ensure Trump not re-elected.

He wouldn’t stand a chance in a primary against Trump. But he could possibly do well in the general.

The fact you're correct just shows how thoroughly dense most Republicans are. If I was a Republican, I would be very concerned that if the fake president isn't forced out of office because of gross tax cheating and money laundering that almost anyone who is informed and objective suspects has occurred and the fake president goes on to win reelection, that by the time the smoke clears the Republican party could be so damaged it will take at least a decade to recover. (Assuming, of course, that Hillary and her sycophants finally go away.)

Oh and there isn't a snowball's chance in hell of Trump getting 40% of the black vote. Even 20% would be a miracle.

If she flipped and decided to run against Trump in 2020, she would have big problems with Trump supporters because she’d be seen as an ungrateful disloyal back stabber to a guy that believed in her and propped her up in his administration. That would really hurt her. Not to say she wouldn’t possibly be competitive, but she needs a little more experience and would be a rock star candidate in the GOP in 2024.

If Colin Powell came forward, he could easily win a general, but he’d never make it out of the primary. But he’s never been interested, so it doesn’t matter.

A little more experience? She's already the most experienced candidate since Nixon. Arguably the most qualified single person in the US to be president.

Remember that every argument you have with someone on MWCboard is actually the continuation of a different argument they had with someone else also on MWCboard.

Or, instead of hoping the Republicans solve your problem, you dems can get a qualified candidate to oppose Trump. :)

I think GHWB was more experienced/qualified than her... four years in the House, two years as UN Ambassador, a year as the Director of the CIA, and eight years as VP.

Uh, no.  Its as if you missed the movie in 16.  There wont be a serious primary challenge to trump, Kasich might make a little noise, but thats all.  Haley, Rubio, and the rest will wait for 2024

I plan on re-registering as a Republican so I can vote against Trump twice.
