I feel horrible for UNLV. They don't realize just how bad this is going to be for them.

Congrats on your new stadium.

Don’t feel bad for us.  You guys talk about how it looks attendance wise to play in a large NFL stadium but, we already have that problem now.  We only sell 4K - 5k season tickets.  We can’t fill a quarter of our seats now.  The Sam Boyd Stadium is over 8 miles from campus which is not centrally located.  UNLV doesn’t even own the dirt parking area.  Plus, it’s not like we have a winning program that’s going to garner community support.  Financially the best we can afford is a high school coach and we can’t even get the money to finish the new practice facility.  Yeah, don’t worry about us as we have so many other issues that to consider the perception of how we will look in a larger stadium is probably at the lower end of concern at this point.

Best case scenario is we can sell Sam Boyd and dump the money into the practice facility and a proven division one head coach.  Could be some money left over for other improvements.  But, who knows how this will work out.  And, besides if our attendance looks bad at least we will look bad in a hell of a nice air conditioned stadium that will be more centrally located within a couple of miles from campus.  Believe me going to early season games when it’s over a hundred degrees absolutely sucks at Sam Boyd.

Again, congrats on your stadium.  I am happy for you guys.

I hope you are right. If SDSU ever is invited into a P5 conference, it is likely in partnership with UNLV. I just do not see UNLV being successful in one of these monstrous NFL stadiums.
