UNLV has not returned a punt for a touchdown in 17 years

UNLV senior safety and former walk-on Dalton Baker heads into Saturday with exactly 100 total tackles for the season after finishing with 99 in 2017. He leads the MW and is tied for 13th in the nation with 11.1 takedowns per game

When the clock ran out and the Rebels, sitting at the 6-yard line, failed to score on the final drive of the game, it marked the first time in Mountain West play that UNLV did not score in the red zone. The Rebels were 13-13 previously in the red zone during conference action, with 11 of those resulting in touchdowns

UNLV’s defense has 14 sacks on the year, which is three more than all of last season

With the loss last week to #23 Fresno State, the Rebels dropped to 5-42 all-time vs. ranked opponents

Can't this season just be over.  Enough is enough.  I don't know what is worse.  Watching the games or reading Graney's next morning article on how Sanchez just needs more time and that the rest of us just expect too much.

Lower Nevada always gives us fits (like FresCrack this is their version of the "Superbowl)".

Course the way we play, we really don't need outside competition, we are our own competition.

"Lower Nevada always gives us fits" No. But it was nice that one time we beat you a couple of years ago.

"their version of the super bowl" No, we don't have a super bowl. Ever. But if this was basketball, your team is the one I get more fired up for.

"we are our own competition" Yes. Occasionally I feel like you're imitating the rebs, and can't get out of your own way.

UNLV with the upset.

Naw. As somebody a lot smarter than I am said about six weeks ago, this team ALWAYS plays down to its competition. Tonight we stink because of horrific play calling and with the exception of our LBs, damn near no emotion. However, just last last week against UNM, once we decide it's going to take 100% effort, we'll manage to win - barely.

Oh and BTW, our OC supposedly said this week that he's happy with one-point wins. What a great motivator.

Boom goes the dynamite.

This. The OC's not wrong, but I think it's the wrong approach to take with 18 to 26 year olds. If you demand "excellence" you'll stand a better chance of getting "good".
