But we don’t elect our president via popular vote.  And if we that route the GOP won the “House Popular Vote” (which isn’t a real thing but whatever) 2010-2016.  The Senate is based on equal state representation so who wins the most votes there is irrelevant.

And as you pointed out, it works both ways in the house.

cox will lose by 15 or so, but democrats will have 80% of the house seats.

I understand that we don’t, but maybe we should. A minority runs the country right now at all levels. They’re not held accountable as a result and can do whatever they want.

i lost on pretty much all my ballot initiative votes and statewide election votes by 14 points, same as always.

I think Newsom is going to be more moderate than state Republicans expect. He'll make a lot of noise about social stuff to be a foil for Trump and to make a national name for himself since he wants to be president someday, but that's about it.

Planning is an exercise of power, and in a modern state much real power is suffused with boredom. The agents of planning are usually boring; the planning process is boring; the implementation of plans is always boring. In a democracy boredom works for bureaucracies and corporations as smell works for skunk. It keeps danger away. Power does not have to be exercised behind the scenes. It can be open. The audience is asleep. The modern world is forged amidst our inattention.

More people voted for house republicans in 2016 than Democrats so that’s not 100% accurate.  And I believe we need to remove direct election of senators and give it back to the state to decide how to either appoint or elect their senators.  I actually think we should change the way the electoral college is done.  I think the 2 votes representing the senators should be  a winner take all but then have each congressional district allocate their votes based on whoever wins their district.  It would give conservatives in California more of a voice along with liberals who live in places like Texas.

I disagree, when he says he wants to do crazy shit I dont see any reason not to beleive him.

Hell, Willy and Jerry think he is crazy left, and you want to give him the benefit of the doubt?

Not to change the subject, but I'm watching a show on the Travel Channel called Monster Encounters. And they said that Tiger urine smells like buttery popcorn.

Devin Nunes chairs the house intelligence committee and Kevin McCarthy is probably going to be house minority leader. What more of a voice do California conservatives need?

I’m talking in selecting the president which is what SJSU was talking about.

Eh, a couple old men yelling at a kid to get off his lawn. Newsom isn't that scary IMO but we'll see.

Aww no, he is pretty scary.

TBH, youve moved to pretty solid left in the past couple years and Im not sure you realize it.  But your political leaning are obviously left now, and it wasnt always that way.  Maybe i just know you better, but I dont think so.

brown was a lefty, but he still vetoed some of the crazy spending programs and antigun stuff.  Newsom wont.

Btw, nunes will win by as much as newsom, that race was never going to be close no matter how much money the democrats spent.  Thats the price the dems paid for gerrymandering costas seat.

My unofficial prediction:

Dems take the House.  Nancy Pelosi is elected speaker...again

GOP picks up 1 Senate seat

 In Nevada

Rosen wins

Laxalt by the skin of his teeth

All questions except 3 pass

I was right about the House

Didn’t see the GOP picking up that many Senate seats

Looks like I was right about the questions.

TBD about Rosen & Laxalt.
