Air Force live mascot injured by army prank may have to be euthanized

Recommended Posts

I’m sure the Army cadets will get disciplined, but I hope that they don’t go overboard.  Stuff like this is in the spirit of the rivalry between the service academies.  Those boneheads just need to learn that stealing a relatively rare and fragile falcon is not the same as stealing a goat.

+++++ them.  Kick them out and force them to repay the government for every year they were at West Point.

I'm looking forward to a new head coach who isn't a cud-chewing autistic retard.

Big difference here is they broke into an individual’s house (heated garage) to start the incident.  And reference above it has been all over the news.  https://gazette.com/sports/air-force-falcon-mascot-suffers-life-threatening-injuries-as-result/article_3e982b60-dfab-11e8-a066-9b1d737f0c1a.html

The poor bird was obviously handled in an aggressive manor if both its wings were broken. The guy that did this should get a dishonorable discharge.

Pranks are childish, but funny. They should be relatively harmless though. This went way too far. They broke into a place and injured an innocent animal that is now suffering ( fyi I'm saying this as an avid carnivore and hunter). This is similar to the tree poisoning incident of the Alabama-Auburn rivalry not long ago. It's no longer a prank at that point, it's a crime.

You guys are harsh.  I’d bet my house that they never intended to hurt the falcon in any way, they are just boneheaded 20 year old kids who didn’t realize how fragile a falcon is.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Kick'em out.

Quote

Air Force Academy spokesperson Lt. Col. Tracy A. Bunko said 22-year-old Aurora "was able to fly around in her pen" on Sunday.

Bunko called the development "an extremely good sign" and said the academy is "grateful for the outpouring of support and optimistic for Aurora's recovery."

The falcon will continue to be evaluated and receive antibiotics to prevent infection, Bunko said.

It's a phucking bird.  Just saying.

BTW, a full recovery is expected.  I very much doubt that the AFA went drama queen on the issue.  Actually, no, I don't doubt it a bit.

So now it's flying in it's cage?  So much for the "broken" wings.  Sounds like much ado over nothing.
