One media person picked Nevada to finish 3rd and SDSU 1st. (San Diego Union Tribune denying doing that)

My guess would be the writer for the LV paper, Mick McGrane. He used to work for the SDUT and now lives in a city that hates Reno.

Does he get a vote though?

Doesn’t matter but Jalen not on first team is laughable and speaks to everyone thinking PPG are the only thing that matters, he’s the 2nd best player in the league (after cody)

It's not just PPG.  He wasn't great in any category statistically last year. 10 points and 7 boards doesn't jump off the page.

OH!  this is hoops.

we may surprise some people.  i think we played a lot of uninspired basketball in the last 3 years.  we still don't have the personnel to compete at a higher level, but i think we surprise people this year.

I hope we’re not surprised by finishing behind SJS.

Here are the top 10 returnees by BPM

1. Justinian Jessup: 8.9

2. Cody Martin: 8.8

3. Jalen McDaniels: 7.3

4. Caleb Martin: 6.9

5. Sam Bittner: 6.5

6. Shakur Juiston: 5.8

7. Anthony Mathis: 5.5

8. Quinn Taylor: 5.5

9. Sam Merrill: 5.4

10. Matt Mitchell: 5.1

Some factors, BPM defensive stats rely on how good the team is on defense/steal/block/drb%. Offensive relies on 3PR/TS%/Usage/Assist%/TOV%. It’s far from perfect but it does a good job showing production with the publically available tools.

Btw McDaniels and Mitchell are the only sophomore on the list. None of nevada’s Incoming transfers rate well by bpm cause they are heavily docked for being on terrible teams.
