At the end of the season. If he isn't, it just shows how far UNLV has fallen. He has zero business coaching at this level. Why did we even hire him? Wow.

How could it take so long for you guys to realize this?  When you hire a health teacher, from a high school.  Now you just want him fired.  Fan base for Unlv is not very bright.

Desiree Reed Francois won’t hire a retread.  It will be an up-and-comer.

People can go ahead and call me a male chauvinist pig but I'll say it anyway. When has a female athletic director ever made a good football coach hire?

If they're smart, they'll hire Hoke.

I hope they're stupid

I'm surprised someone hasn't hired him.  Has he not been looking for jobs and just collecting Michigan checks?  I know he is at SDSU now, but that was just this year right?  If a G5 team hires him, they will get a great coach.

He's had some NFL gigs. I seem to recall he did something at Oregon also.

I might be wrong, but weren't you guys glad he left?

with that said, I'd take him, if push came to shove.

No. Michigan stole him.  Some folks were upset with how it all went down.

UNLV had nothing to do with $2B stadium.

I'm sure you're really educated on the topic to make such a statement, and you did all your research--but you are a Fresneck fan after all, so let me help you clear a few things up for you anyway. After all, it's been a very common misconception on this board for dweebs like you and @boisewitha-s to disassociate UNLV with Allegiant Stadium (probably because your program's stadiums/practice facilities are dumps in comparison to what UNLV has under construction) but, we'll go through this again anyway:

UNLV was integral to the stadium being built. Addressing UNLV's need for a new stadium was a huge justification for the public funding used to build the stadium. They are an equal tenant with the Raiders which is why UNLV got their own offices, locker rooms, use of medical/training facilities, permanent signage, and their very own turf for the stadium. UNLV doesn't even have to share a field with the Raiders---in comparison half the programs in this conference have track and field and soccer pitch markings on their stadiums to share their field with...LOL. The stadium was the driving force behind getting UNLV a $65 million multimedia deal with Learfield Communications (the biggest deal in the conference)

So UNLV struck out with another coach, a HS coach no less. But Sanchez served his purpose. He raised $35 million to give UNLV one of the best football facilities in the country, and bridged the gap while it and the stadium went under construction.

I would 'like' this post, but it's broken.

Gotta love all the experts that know everything about UNLV and their new stadium, lol. Raiders don't happen without UNLV..

I don’t know, but I can tell you that’s what she’s gonna do.  My guess is that she hires a P5 offensive coordinator who has pass happy attack.

I really hope that’s the case. Losing in such boring fashion is getting old.

I'm still in favor of BYU and UNLV scheduling each other on an annual basis.   (BYU currently does this with Boise and USU, and those games usually sell out).

UNLV is going to need some help filling that new stadium on occasion.

And one thing BYU brings is fans (not just BYU fans, but lots of Mormon UNLV fans come out for this game too).

Otherwise....could get ugly.  What if there are only like 10,000 fans filling that new stadium for every game?

For UNLV, would it make sense to try and run Army, Air Force, or Navy's offensive system?

Those schools don't ever get elite talent, yet they win.

I know it's probably not what most UNLV fans want, but what if they at least won games?   UNLV really really needs a way to win games or they are going to not have any fans left.   The Raiders are about to steal their few remaining fans.

I hope he is fired, but he'll likely get one more season. Sanchize was a great salesman when it came to pumping people up on what he wanted to build at UNLV. But that was the problem, he was just a salesman--not a D1 HC. By the end of the year his salesmanship had a direct hand in raising over $40 million in donations for the Fertitta Football Complex, and towards renovations for the Lied Athletic Complex and Sam Boyd Stadium....and he's brought in better recruiting classes than any other coach in recent memory.

One shred of optimism UNLV football fans can get behind after yet another head coach fire FLOP is unlike HAUCK.... who left the cupboard completely bare after his departure at UNLV----at least Sanchez will leave the program to the next coach with a team with some depth to be competitive and a $32 million practice facility...plus a $2 billion stadium by 2020 will help things along.

To be certain- you don't have a $2B stadium. You are borrowing one.
