DRF better hurry up..

but she'd have to get rid of all her UCLA gear.

Arrigo is a moron. Nobody I’ve talked to that is involved with Trogan athletics has heard of her, she’s not on anyones radar.

Her resume isn’t up to snuff for that school and not only that, the LA media will eat her alive. She’s not polished yet to handle that spotlight.

Arrigo is just trying to make it sound like he’s connected.

I truly believe he had the right attitude and right mindset throughout his tenure. He has fire and passion for the school, which is something UNLV has been lacking for quite a while.

However, he just doesn't seem to have the coaching ability to back it up. Quite frankly, it’s his lack of experience coaching at a high level, which is why you just don't see the HS to college transitions go well.

For a moment, I thought you were talking about SJSU's HC. Similar dilemma. Switch HS w/ position coach experience only.

Agree. He outed himself with the Thad Matta statement he made. I never believe anything he says.

But it is entertaining.

To this LV Stadium debate............the original reason LV is even getting a stadium of this scope & scale is.

Venetian Casino owner Sheldon Adelson has been at war with the LVCVA & Convention Center for years..........and when the LV Convention Center (LVCC) was looking at funding for their massive expansion..........Adelson stepped into the mix & courted the Raiders & the new stadium as an alternative to the LVCC expansion project which he hates because he has his own Sands Convention Center.............so to throw a wrench in the LVCC project, Adelson got in the middle of the Raiders to LV & stadium funding, special legislative session in his attempt to divert public funding (room tax) from the LVCC to the new stadium..........once he saw that his efforts failed to stop the LVCC project, Adelson pulled out of his % funding of any portion of the stadium.

Sheldon Adelson pulls out of Raiders' stadium deal in Las Vegas

https://money.cnn.com/2017/01/31/news/raiders-sheldon-adelson-las-vegas/index.html

The Raiders will have to get $650 million from someone else, because Sheldon Adelson is out.

The billionaire casino mogul had pledged that money to help the team relocate and build a stadium in Las Vegas. But Adelson pulled his money, saying he was blindsided by the leasing proposal that the Raiders submitted last week, which he had not been informed about.

As one of three backers, Adelson would have been one of the parties leasing the stadium to the Raiders.

"The Oakland Raiders came before the Las Vegas Stadium Authority last week with a proposed lease agreement that has sent shockwaves through our community," Adelson said in a statement. "It was certainly shocking to the Adelson family. We were not only excluded from the proposed agreement; we weren't even aware of its existence."

The terms of the deal would give the Raiders naming rights, allow them to pay $1 in annual rent and let them control the schedule of the UNLV football team, which will also use the stadium.

Adelson, who owns Las Vegas Sands Corporation, said he was "discouraged" and "deeply disappointed for the disregard" the team showed him.

"It's clear the Raiders have decided their path for moving to Las Vegas does not include the Adelson family," the statement said. "So, regrettably, we will no longer be involved in any facet of the stadium discussion."

The Las Vegas stadium, set to open in 2020, will cost about $1.9 billion. Nevada has allocated $750 million in taxpayer funds and team owner Mark Davis has pledged $500 million.

Now that Adelson is out, the team will need to find a new backer.

Surprised to hear that Adelson is still alive as last time I saw a photo of the a-hole he looked 90% dead.

Boom goes the dynamite.

He’s just blowing smoke to generate interest in his new venture “franchise sports”. I think he’s eventually going to turn it into a “the Athletic” subscription business model but first needs to generate a large enough following.

Problem is, there is too much competition, Rebel net already has a paywall for “insiders”, lvrj and sun have a paywall for their stories and perks etc.

Are Oakland or San Diego's stadiums domed,

The new SDSU stadium doesn't need a dome because the temperature almost never reaches 90 degrees much less 120.

The new SDSU stadium be suitable or expandable for the nfl?

In theory. In reality I don't think so and although SDSU would never say so publicly, the school has no desire to see the NFL return to America's Finest City.

Boom goes the dynamite.

The hottest day ever in Las Vegas was 117 in 1942, and around football season its mid 80s.---But that's not really the point I was trying to make w/ the dome. A dome is preferable for stadiums that want to host multi-purpose events like the ones I listed that Allegiant Stadium is going to bank on offsetting its enormous cost.

Not many would.

I would say though that the sin bin (Golden Knights blog) writers put the best material out there in terms of Las Vegas sportswriting scene. Free and has a partnership with the team.

Yeah, this.

I might be in the minority but I really loved the original plan (unlvNow) to build an on campus stadium with a bunch of shops, restaurants, dorms. It was going to be a real game changer for UNLV. **** MGM for torpedoing it because they had T-Mobile arena being built along with competition for MGM grand arena down the street.

MGM was leading the major casinos in "joining up" on the stadium project but wanted an "open air" stadium.  Helpful.

That was before the acquisition of the 42 acres at Trop and Koval, and before all the county "flight approach concerns" with an on-campus stadium.
