smltwnrckr
I grew up liking the A's so when they make the postseason I always pull for them. I'm glad I get to root against the Yankees this week, too. 4 Quote Planning is an exercise of power, and in a modern state much real power is suffused with boredom. The agents of planning are usually boring; the planning process is boring; the implementation of plans is always boring. In a democracy boredom works for bureaucracies and corporations as smell works for skunk. It keeps danger away. Power does not have to be exercised behind the scenes. It can be open. The audience is asleep. The modern world is forged amidst our inattention.

Regular season is long and tedious but playoff baseball is best sport. I will join you in the fight and we will stomp the teeth of the naysayers into the curbs of the parking lot landscaping islands of Best Buy or any big box center where there is adequate room for such things. Dimwhit
So the Dodgers will be the ones to sweep my Braves out of the playoffs. Maybe I’ll be surprised, but I’m not counting on it.

They were commenting that Atlanta is so good that they're actually a year ahead of schedule. Orel Hershisher, Nomar Garciaparra and Ned Colletti were the guys and they know baseball. I'm not sure if that homegrown list includes Matt Kemp. It should, as he was drafted by the Dodgers and came up through their minor league system. You got Machado and Dozier as the "bs rental players" and that's it.
