UNLV and Arkansas State have met only once before when the Rebels won 28-23 on Sept. 9, 1995, in Las Vegas

That game was actually a conference meeting as the Red Wolves were members of the expanded Big West from 1993-95

UNLV is 3-1 all-time vs. teams from Arkansas (1-1 vs. Arkansas, 1-0 vs. ASU and 1-0 vs. what is now known as Central Arkansas)

While the Rebels are 2-4 vs. current members of the Sun Belt (1-0 vs. ASU, 0-4 vs. Louisiana and 1-0 vs. Monroe), this will mark the first time UNLV plays a team that was a member of the league at the time of the game

UNLV (2-1/0-0) looks to win three of its first four games for the first time since 2008

The Rebels are looking to win three straight games since a four-game streak in 2013

As a team, UNLV sits third in the nation with 346.7 yards per game rushing behind only option-based attacks at Georgia Tech and Navy

UNLV has defeated opponents by at least four touchdowns in back-to-back games for the first time since elevating to NCAA Division I in 1978 and for the first time overall since 1975 when future NFL head coach Ron Meyer’s squad beat Jackson State 39-2 and then Nebraska-Omaha 35-6

In red zone scoring UNLV is 11 of 14 with 9 TD's & 2 FG's

There have only been 15 games in history that saw a UNLV quarterback rush for at least 100 net yards SEVEN of those have happened since the start of the 2016 season

When Prairie View A&M kicked the ball out of the end zone after a bad snap late in Saturday’s game, it marked UNLV’s first safety since a game vs. Northern Illinois in 2014

Against PVAMU, UNLV senior Evan Pantels saw his school-record streak of successful extra points snapped at 80 when his first attempt of the night hit the uprights. Pantels then missed a 24-yard field-goal attempt, which marked the first time he missed an attempt shorter than 39 yards in his collegiate career. Despite the miss, Pantels’ field-goal percentage of .800 (32-40) still tops the program’s all-time list .

UNLV senior DE Roger Mann is tied for first in the MW and 10th in the nation with 3.5 quarterback sacks

Leading the league and tying for 10th nationally is LB Gabe McCoy with his 6.0 tackles for loss

Jackson St. is worth scheduling every season just for their marching band. Awesome show.

Sanchez isn't going anywhere after he secured $10 mill from the Fertittas as the down payment for the $32 mill practice facility. That and playing in the Raiders stadium are a game changer for UNLV. I know, I know its nowhere near as ideal as playing in an on-campus stadium, but anything is better than playing in the silver bowl out in the boonies in Henderson. It's a wonder that any people show up at all to watch sub .500 football and driving through traffic to get there.

Could not agree more. Howard’s band sucked compared to them.

Grambling got bumped, they might be fun to watch, too.

I personally wish we didn’t play four non-conference games.  It’s really stupid.  We could get rid of the FCS game by moving down to three.

We need all the wins we can get. We're UNLV after all.

If you’re such a UNLV fan, why did you go elsewhere?

That’s like f-cking a fat chick just so you can say you got laid.

Your closing rate would be up around 60% if you went that route.  They are willing to give a quirky guy like you a shot.  You should honestly try it.

Big game for UNLV. A State is a very good team, but that is a winnable road game for the Rebs. That would be a good win for the league.

They are a damn good team and honestly, I think they are better than we are. I'll be pretty surprised if we manage to win this. Passing game will need to finally show up in this one.

Curl and flat routes.  Fake a curl and go deep when the defense cheats.
