Pats will win the super bowl this year. Bookmark it.

Edit: this was a response to a misreading of the post. Not that it matters.

Bump...

Eff all of you.

Planning is an exercise of power, and in a modern state much real power is suffused with boredom. The agents of planning are usually boring; the planning process is boring; the implementation of plans is always boring. In a democracy boredom works for bureaucracies and corporations as smell works for skunk. It keeps danger away. Power does not have to be exercised behind the scenes. It can be open. The audience is asleep. The modern world is forged amidst our inattention.

Belichick did it with 3rd rate talent.  Least talented team in the playoffs by far and he wins it all.

Hard to overestimate that guy.  Can't wait for Kraft to fire him and keep Brady so they can fall to the bottom of their division.

That's my take as well. Belichick is the engine that makes that team go, not Brady. While the quarterback is the "face" of the team, New England's system under Belichick is such that they could plug any number of quarterbacks in there and they'd still easily win their division and compete for the AFC title. Kraft would be a moron to ever fire Belichick.

You sons a bitches. Brady has 6 game winning drives in the fourth quarter or Super Bowls. Only Eli and Bradshaw have more than one, and they only have four combined. Belicheck sucked in Cleveland, Brady would never have been the GOAT without Belicheck. Together they both became the GOATs, they needed each other. If McVay had Brady last night and Belicheck had Goff, Rams win easily.

We’re all sitting in the dugout. Thinking we should pitch. How you gonna throw a shutout when all you do is bitch.

Also kudos @smltwnrckr, that was not a time to predict a Patriots super bowl and you nailed it. Wish I’d wagered a little.

It was largely a moral wager. I just assumed the bad guys will be winning everything for at least another couple years. Watch for a Duke/Kentucky MBB National Championship Game as the next big one.

Kentucky better hope we’re on Duke’s side of the bracket, because we’ll make them our bitch If we aren’t. :bananasex:

If Tony Romo, Philip Rivers, Drew Breeze were Patriots the last 17 years the patriots would have 9 superbowl wins.

Yes, one of the top 5 qbs ever, plus the best qb to never reach a super bowl, plus Tony Romo would be enough to accomplish what one Tom Brady did. I agree. GOAT!

Actually they would have accomplished an undefeated superbowl record.  Only the poor play, lack of athletic ability at Qb has kept the Patriots from winning everyone of their superbowls instead of only 6.   Getting beat by poor giants teams and a backup QB because Brady can't evade even the weakest rush cost them 3 superbowls if not more appearances.

Tony Romo, Drew Brees, and Phillip Rivers already have undefeated super bowl records

Remember that every argument you have with someone on MWCboard is actually the continuation of a different argument they had with someone else also on MWCboard.

A lot of it has to to do with being in the right place at the right time, for all involved, including Belichick.  But I believe Belichick is the leader of this franchise and had more to do with NEs success than anyone else.  NE gets the later draft picks (Brady went 199th I believe).  Players develop and improve while in this franchise.  They grow to their full potential.  Then because of salary caps and their increased value they move to another team.  Then next man up, who becomes a great player.  Brady has become a damn good QB because he was in this system and franchise, as has each and every other player.

Edelman...how in the hell was he getting so wide open yesterday?  How was he creating the separation he was getting?  Any NFL QB could have hit him as wide open as he was.  He made Brady look good.  He played his college football at Kent State and the College of San Mateo, for Pete's sakes, and was drafted in the 7th round.  And now he's a SB MVP.  The culture makes all of these guys the best they can be.  The culture comes from the top.

The World Needs More Cowboys!
