Thumbs up on Eight Men Out. But are you aware of its background and that much of the ostensibly factual book on which it was based eventually proved to be inaccurate?

Yes I know the more I learned in the years after seeing the movie. However I still like watching the movie.

"These two youts."

"Youts?"

"Yeah"

"What is a yout?"

Fred Gwynne was great as the judge. Especially when Marisa Tomei gets on the stand.

This order is very particular!

Remember that every argument you have with someone on MWCboard is actually the continuation of a different argument they had with someone else also on MWCboard.

Both are good.  But the original is better.

I'm still impressed with the cast both were able to get together for them.

I love most of these movies! I would add the John Wayne/John Ford cavalry trio.  The Searchers was probably some of John Wayne's best acting!  Pretty much any comedy in the 80's & the CLASSIC Animal House.  The five hour Pride & Prejudice that was done by BBC.  To Have and Have Not - "You know how to whistle, don't you? You just put your lips together and blow".

There is another one that just came to mind which is the original version of The Day the Earth Stood Still. Oh and also Fast Times at Ridgemont High

+1 on Fast Times. The young 'uns would probably think it dumb but to me, it's a definite classic.

Boom goes the dynamite.
