If we would’ve hosted byu last year we would’ve averaged 50,000+

But that idaho state loss loss ended the season for most fence sitters.

Nevada is usually much better than that.

You guys have a better home schedule this year, so that should help.

Eh we'll see.  Most people are forking out the big bucks for basketball this season.  Reno has a ton of cheapskates, so I don't know how well we'll do getting our bandwagon/casual fans to get football tickets on top of the bball tickets.

That is a brutal OOC opponent, I suggest you downgrade to BYU - Rexburg

You mean BYU-Idaho?  I wish they still had an athletics program.  They are the largest school in the State of Idaho, with the 2nd highest ranked academics (behind U of I).  But also...no.

Honestly I wouldn't mind BYU scheduling San Jose State.   I like that they are in a nice part of California.   the Bay Area is a nice location.

SJSU averaged 14,206 per home game in 2017.

Nevada averaged 16,722 oer home game in 2017.

For comparison, Montana averaged 23,535.

How long have you been on this board? SJSU has no shame. Their fans on this board still think they belong here.

10 FBS teams under 15,000.  Several under 12,000 average.

Mom always said a job worth doing is a job worth doing right.

The NCAA needs to enforce the 15K minimum requirement. Don't average at least that many over three consecutive seasons you get relegated to FCS or drop football. Fail to average at least 15K 5 times over any 10 year period and you get relegated.

Boom goes the dynamite.

One of them posted that it was 111 degrees in San Jose during their opening game (the standards maybe had 200 people total, from the video).

111 degrees?  I had no idea that San Jose got so hot.  Maybe they need to put shades over the bleachers so the fans will come out?

What was the excuse for every game after that and the previous two decades before that?

It’s relaxing to watch a game in peace and quiet.

Yea, it's nice to spread out and enjoy the potential for wins that likely will never come.  We could be friggin BYU, spending game day with a bunch of white robots breathing down each other's necks only to suffer another loss. F that.   #cult

That's pretty damn hot for SJ.

It was pretty miserable at the Boise State game that same day... BSU fans had been complaining about late kickoffs and when they finally got an afternoon game it hit triple digits.

And since the concession stands by our section ran out of water bottles before halftime and the stupid stadium policy made us throw away our water, we were part of the few thousand who left at halftime.

At least SJSU fans had empty shady sections to themselves!

Trust me, I’m VERY happy I didn’t go to BYU.

It's probably a similar feeling for bay area Mormon kids about San Jose State.   Not everyone can deal with the territorial homeless folks on the SJSU campus, or wants a commuter campus experience.  The empty stadiums is what it is.  That's why its good to have options, of course.

Also, it's pretty difficult to get into BYU.  Some people would struggle being grouped with folks with higher grade capacity.

That said, other than terrible athletics, San Jose State provides a good service for locals.

Here's something that has never been uttered (don't get excited Fresno fans, not udder) in the history of the world:

"Man, I wish I had gone to BYU for the college experience!"
