That dude equated talent to wins. Not that simple ad everyone can see.

Plus you mentioned one goofy person and some twitter homers. That does not equal the entire fan base.

You said no one thought they were talented. Now you’re moving the goal posts?

12k, coming from a downed year, sourpuss fanbase on New Years Eve weekend....yeah.

Reno had 9,500 for their home opener against UNM.

MWC tourney games...lol. Where tickets are allotted to everyone? You other guys swear we get them in our season tix package and just dont show up.

Also the team lost 5 straight to end the season. Not a good note...did I mention the winning thing?

It is possible, but UNLV fans will probably make some effort for that game. Vegas has a huge mormon community. A ton of BYU grads and probably a million mormon cousins that can't wait to visit here.

Plus BYU/UNLV was the best MWC basketball rivalry (14-14 record) and haven't played since they left in 2011.

One thing I respect about UNLV fans is they bring it...

Playing UNLV in front of a sold out Thomas and Mack, 20,000 fans, is an experience everyone should have.  It's big time.  Not a tiny half filled arena.

You've shared that you live in Las Vegas and that you get very upset about UNLV.  Why?

What current MWC even comes close to what UNLV hoops has?  I'd say only SDSU and UNM.  But neither program is close to UNLV's tradition.

I REPEAT... UNLV will be the 3rd best team in the MWC this season.  They are on the up and up.  Only Reno and SDSU have better programs right now.

UNLV is the unquestioned, and still, KING if MWC Hoops.

You should lay off rebel fans. They have had a rough couple of decades.

Some fans have had it much worse.  Look at Boise State.  Only 3 NCAA tournament appearances over the past 20 years

2008 Round of 64 Louisville L 61–79 Greg Graham
2013 First Four La Salle L 71–80 Leon Rice
2015 First Four Dayton L 55–56 Leon Rice

Apples to oranges stumpy. You are trying to compare a national powerhouse with Lil ol bsu.

There is no way bsu fans are disappointed with bsu's conference title and tourney appearances in the last few years.

All the rest of us thought your post was quite witty but qwelish gave it a Thompson monkey. Hey qwelish! Just who or what are you?

Boom goes the dynamite.

New Mexico and SDSU have had the most MWC conference championships.  New Mexico will be back on top this season. We have a ton of talent going into this year.  Last year we were not expected to compete and we almost came out on top in the MWC tourney with a mix of Neals leftovers.

True. SDSU and UNM have had the stronger teams in the up years, but SDSU was terrible its first 6 years and UNM had quite few sub .500 yearsm, but is definitely one of the more consistent members of the conference.

SDSU's last decade hasn't been matched and by far lead in consistency now. Depending on how much Dutcher can take him with his own guys eventually.

UNLV hasn't had a under .500 MWC season until the last few years of Dave Rice era. Before that UNLV had the highest winning percentage and consistently challenged and beat the guys at the top. Including those great BYU/Utah runs early on in the conference.

SDSU didn't pass UNLV in win percentage until 2016 in part to two those 16-2 runs when everyone else was complete trash. Including Rice's UNLV.

SDSU now is up at the top with 10 wins more than UNLV.  UNLV 2nd with 9 wins more than UNM.

As for next season it will be interesting to see the rotation. Definitely can't count out a team that can shoot lights out and lead in damn near every shooting % category.

So if Boise maintains their current state for the next 10 years would you consider yourself one of the top teams? Especially if Reno and others dip and climb over the years?

All is well, For Rice is gone.

It would be hard not to. Consistent  top 3 finishes with a few more conf titles and tourney appearances. I would be surprised if their success continues though. Basketball is not a priority at bsu.
