Yup, figured.  Now the question is will the MWC get a new bowl vs another G5 league to replace it?

Yes, the "Terrible Herbst's Hoover Damn Bowl"

it still says P12 vs SEC expected, but not finalized.

I'd like it to stay P12 vs. MWC

If the Las Vegas Bowl becomes PAC12 vs SEC, expect an empty stadium.  No SEC fans will travel to Vegas.

The PAC12 and SEC should try and schedule a bowl game against each other in Texas, where it will be better attended.

Sources: Mitsubishi Motors Las Vegas Bowl is new name for Las Vegas Bowl. Mitsubishi Motors signs 2-year naming rights deal. In 2020, bowl will move to Raiders’ new stadium & expected to feature Pac-12 vs. SEC

No SEC fans will travel to Vegas? Dude, you're clueless. Any SEC representative will pack the stadium and the casinos. They travel exceptionally well.

I can tell you haven't thought this through.

The Vegas Bowl will be something like the SEC #7 vs PAC12 #5.  Hardly a big game.

And the SEC fans travel exceptionally well....when they can drive.  They won't come to this pre-christmas game.

Watch the Bowl try to move the date much later, if/when tget gf SEC signed on.

If we end up with a second Bowl for MWC vs nobody, it will have the original time slot.

You are probably right.  I still doubt it will be well attended, even if it's moved.

And don't be surprised if the second bowl is MWC vs BYU in some form or another...  Hardly exciting for either side.

Since BYU is playing 3-4 MWC schools a season, not very interesting as a matchup, no.

BYU will be some kind of alternate or optioned pick for a secondary bowl, because their tie-in to replace PAC12 will be lame by comparison to the current one.

Agree and disagree here. It will depend on match-up, quality of season, program, etc.

For example, Kentucky at 7-5 versus Utah at 7-5 would be very well attended. However, Florida at 6-6 versus Oregon State at 6-6 would not be.

Do we know if there will be a second game?

I can tell you haven't paid attention to where I live. In SEC /ACC country.

When this was announced the sports programs I listen to blew up with excitement. They all know it's not going to be a top tier team going , hell,  they go to bigger bowls, it's what SEC does.

BUT, the chance to go to Vegas and root for your #7 team pre-Christmas is FAR  more exciting to those fans than driving a couple hundred miles to another lame ass bowl.

They'll spend the kids Christmas money on tickets and rooms.

You have no idea how this potential game has hit a nerve with the 'lower level' SEC FAN.

If fan reaction on  the radio -and trust me- if you've never heard SEC centric radio programs you wouldn't understand the passion, are any indication,  the game in Vegas will be well attended by the SEC.

The PAC12? I'm not sure.
