Nevada Recruiting for 19/20

Recommended Posts

We're also looking into two transfers.

Sorolla, would definitely be nice to land whether or not Brown stays.

* Jaume Sorolla: A 7-foot center, Sorolla is a graduate transfer from Valparaiso who could slot in at center and allow Jordan Brown to play his more natural power forward position. Sorolla is expected to take an official visit to Nevada. Here's a full look at the Spanish native.

* Sam Iorio: Another transfer, Iorio is a 6-6, 230-pound forward capable of defending bigger bodies and also stretching the floor. At American University, he averaged 14.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while hitting 124 threes at a 38.8 percent clip over two seasons. He's also looking at Cincinnati, Hawaii, Washington State and South Alabama. Iorio would have to sit out next season under NCAA transfer rules but would have two years of eligibility remaining starting in 2021-22. Nevada has already used one scholarship on a sit-out guy (Desmond Cambridge, from Brown), and it wouldn't be a shock to see a second sit-out transfer being added to the mix.

He would definitely be a great get this late in the process. I like Sorolla as well.

Although at this point I'm wondering if we're loading up on too many young bigs. His addition would give us four sophomore big men (plus Jordan Brown as a Jr in the very off chance that he stays that long) next season. Maybe it would be best to sign Sorrolla and then give Townsell a scholarship...
