2018 World Cup

Fox is going to have lots of fun with the 2022 World Cup.  November 21-December 18 in Qatar.  It's going up against the heart of the NFL and CFB season, plus the start of the NBA season.  Yikes

We're already planning on going. Totally missed not being in the action this year and Qatar, I think, will be an awesome experience

Shouldn't be too bad since Qatar is in the same time zone as Moscow and most of the games will already be over before the football games begin.

Ya know, one of the things I like most about all the World Cup games, and soccer games in general, when they say the match starts at 8am, it actually starts at 8am; not 8:01, not 8:05, not 8:20. No dinkin' around with mindless commentary and more commercials.

Video review was a good addition to the World Cup.  One change I would like to see going forward, is increased number of substitutions.  At least up to six.

Agreed. I like the video review. They're quick with it, and sometimes it's very worth the extra time.

No cutting away for commercials either.  It's one of the only instances FIFA gets right, that the NFL does not.

Next big event in "futbol" is...

The 2018 NCAA Championship, hosted by UC Santa Barbara.  :D The College Cup returns to SB for the second time in program history.  We host in 2020 as well.

Will NFL and CFB be even as relevant in 2022 as it is today?

Why would they host the event in a shit hole city like Santa Barbara? I swear, they should've just done it in TJ.

There are only two things I can't stand in this world: people who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch.
