Utah Gets AAF Team

Recommended Posts

Salt Lake City is the fifth of eight cities chosen to play in the AAF next season. The others are Orlando, Atlanta, Memphis and Phoenix so far. Three more will be announced later this Spring and Summer. Dennis Erickson will coach the team in Salt Lake City.

That's pretty cool, hopefully it is successful. Sounds like players will be "allocated regionally" to some extent so SLC will be the likely landing spot for a bunch of MWC players who don't make it in the NFL. Should be a good opportunity for some borderline guys to continue playing football and possibly work their way up to the NFL eventually. It's also pretty sweet that players get a one year scholarship to complete their education for every year they play in this league.

the Memphis team needs to grab up Riley Ferguson as starting QB and hire DeAngelo Williams as RB coach...

Paxton Lynch might be available by then.

This thing is dead before it even starts.  No one in Utah is going to sit outside in the snow and watch this.

I'm hoping he can be a decent back-up somewhere...you can make a career out of that.

my dream job would be Brett Favre's back-up.
