You think they go bowling?

if they do it'll be by the skin of their teeth.   Sitake isn't magically going to become a good coach.

+1.

He was a terrible hire, as was Tom Holmoe. More than anything, THEY are the problem with BYU athletics.

byu needs to just pass the plate around twice more and drop a dump truck full of money in the navy coach's back yard

Lol, someone can’t come to grips that Fresno State is just better than SUDS.

Let it go man.

I think Fresno is hard to read. They are a ten win team that is returning some 18 starters or so. They have a very good QB, and a stable of effective RBs. Defensively they are strong However, this team also won only one game in 2016. So, was last year an anomaly? I have no idea.

You wanna know what the difference was from last year and 2016?  One thing....coaching.

The players didn’t respect DeRuyter and the play showed it. These kids will spill their guts for Tedford. That’s the difference.

i think when comparing 2016 to 2017 you need to remember four things

1. The entire team sans a few players pretty much quit on deruyter in 2016, and while Kiesau is a bright young energetic dude you don't turn the ship around on 3 years of decline in a heartbeat.

2. DeRuyter managed a few years of good recruiting in terms of top-end talent despite some really dumb decisions in the recruiting process.  Attrition (his fault) savaged the depth at several positions and he honestly should have done much better considering he had two years of derek carr to show off, but most 1-11 teams don't have multiple NFL caliber WRs.

3. Tedford lucked into a pac-12 caliber starting QB that wasn't there the previous year.  If McMaryion isn't there we either start chason virgil for the entire year or play an injured jorge reyna.  That team is lucky to win 7 games.

4. Tedford is just flat out a better coach, and he brought on what is in hindsight a downright exceptional staff.

Wyoming at #51.

Quote

Wyoming leaders shook up the program at the close of the 2013 season, parting with Dave Christensen and hiring Craig Bohl.

It took a few years, but Bohl has molded the program into the type of consistent winner that can withstand the loss of a top-10 NFL draft pick at quarterback without taking a huge step backward.

Schools from the MWC, AAC, and MAC left to be ranked:

  • AAC (3) - Memphis, Temple, Central Florida
  • MWC (3) - Boise State, Fresno State, San Diego State
  • MAC (2) - Toledo, Ohio U.

No, actually I was only on my first cup of coffee when I posted. I should always wait until the second or third cup of coffee.

It works if you go Top 51, but not Top 50.

But at that point, may as well go with "Top 52" instead.

TOP 52

  • AAC (3): Temple, Memphis, Central Florida
  • MWC (4): Boise State, Fresno State, San Diego State
  • MAC (3): Buffalo, Toledo, Ohio U.

MWC still with an extra team, which I think was your main point anyway.

I like my "Top 52" better, but either way your point remains; however, you know you're setting yourself up for AAC trolls to post about the AAC's "more teams in the Top 32" (or whatever).

oh wow. Hadn't checked this thread in a while.  Fresno still not on the board at #41 is much higher than i had expected (I think i was expecting low 50s)...but that's also a bit lower than i expected for SDSU, i figured they'd be low 30s.
