CSU Stadium Naming Rights Sold

Recommended Posts

Public Service Credit Union is paying $37.7 Million for a 15-year agreement.  This on top of the $20 Million pledge to name the field after Sonny Lubick and the branding for the New Belgium Porch which I think was around $5 Million.  Total naming rights sold for the stadium are one of the largest in the country.  Big Time!

Certainly not in any Athletics that matter. But you already knew that.

Big 12 invite is in the mail.. so we were told. Maybe it was lost in the mail last year? Seriously great news for CSU. I'd like some of that cash for my University. I'd especially appreciate the illuminating insights @BSUTOP25 could provide on this topic.

There are only two things I can't stand in this world: people who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch.

Maybe there was a USPS strike? Didn't see anything in the papers.

If you have to tell people that you are

Big Time!

Well, typically that means you really are not.  I think this is one of those cases.  Good get on the $.  Now maybe you won’t have to cut any sports and you can pay atleast average salaries to your coaches.  Who knows.

Hard to imagine getting return on $2.5M a year by naming a non NFL or P5 football field but then I know nothing about advertising.  Good get CSU.  Your football program is making the right moves off the field.  Time will tell if the rewards will be reaped on the field as well.

Appears to be 3rd highest naming rights amount for a college stadium on a per year basis, as well as total amount.  When you add in the $20M for naming the field, it becomes the 2nd highest in amount.

The MWC bar has been set, feel free to jump over it.

That explains why CU is removing the Coors name from the Events Center and Folsom Field's naming rights are on the market as well...perhaps CU will be getting big $ soon as well.  Also read that the Mile High naming rights might be sold soon as well.

Yep, also pretty big when you consider that CSU's "most conservative" revenue goal for naming rights was $500,000 annually. I can't remember what the most optimistic revenue goal was, but I think I remember it being around a million.

Let us all keep this in mind the next time the know-nothing gotards around here try the whole "zOMG if their ticket sales go down at all they are SCREWED!!!1!" bit.

With naming rights out of the way, the last major piece of the revenue puzzle is how much the Hughes site sells for. I bet we know within the next 12 months.
