If MWC schools boycott BYU, the cougirls will just start a new conference and destroy the MWC.

BYU

UNLV

SDSU

Boise

Colorado State

New Mexico

Houstom

SMU

Whyoming

Air Force (Football Only)

Gonzaga ( All Sports but Football)

That conference will never exist ever.  We'll go ahead and name it the Unicorn Skittles Conference.  The USC.

There are only really 2 schools you are talking about, then... USU and Boise.   They are the only schools looking to schedule BYU every year.   So that's where this topic starts and ends.

Do you honestly think either school is going to "boycott" scheduling BYU?

The other schools are only scheduling BYU something like two games every ten years.   (see SDSU and UNLV as an example).   I don't see that changing much either.

Holmoe recently stated that he's had some more scheduling discussions with other MWC schools, and mentioned AFA by name.   So I think you are going to see more BYU vs MWC announcements very soon.

Bsu is not looking to extend the series with byu. Ad is in wait and see mode with byu. Byu's downward trend on the field and in recruiting since going Indy is a big concern.

Bullshet. We fill BYU's stadium and they fill ours. How many times did we fill our stadium last season? Even the MWC champ game had shitloads of empty seats.

You think we are in the SEC or something? We will take that home money game any and every year it is on the table.

Ad is not looking to renew at this point. Don't know what else to tell you.

Ha!  Good one.  Boise will sign another 10 years deal as soon as they can.  ESPN and Boise love this.

It's a bad move for the MWC from a public relations standpoint.  While it might somewhat speed up byu's inevitable final descent into irrelevance, it's not necessary to achieve that.  BYU is headed there anyway.  What a boycott would do is allow BYU to publicly play the victim and attempt to turn local mormon communities against their local schools.  Don't give them any excuses.  Let them swirl down the toilet all on their own.

It could give them an out for rejoining the conference in football, so they could claim they had no choice because scheduling would be impossible. There are still many supporters out there that think being independent allows them to claim they are above the G5 and equivalent to a P5 program ( Dick Harmon was on radio this morning making that claim ), and coming back here would be a really bitter pill for them to swallow, so claiming that they had no choice would be the only way I could see it happening.

yea because starting a new conference is SOOOOOO easy... except it isn't!

Ask the Wyoming fans.  They know all about it with their little secret meetings.
