Having finally admitted that there was Russian interference in our election....

Recommended Posts

Trump has attacked or blamed the following people and/or entities:

  • Barack Obama
  • Hillary Clinton
  • The FBI
  • The DOJ
  • General McMaster
  • James Comey
  • Robert Mueller
  • Adam Schiff
  • Jeff Sessions (or Jeff Session, because Trump attacked him on Twitter earlier today as well ;)

Trump has not attacked or blamed the following people and/or entities:

  • Vladimir Putin
  • Russia

His transition on the whole Russia thing is fascinating...

First it was, "Russian interference is an invention of the deep state, fake news carriers, and OBAMA!!! It didn't happen, Putin told me so." Then it was, "Okay, so maybe interference happened, but there was NO COLLUSION." Now we're at, "Collusion is an invention of the deep state, and the Russian interference was OBAMA'S fault because it happened while he was President! Trump would have stopped it!!!!!! #MAGA." I'm wondering how much longer it's going to be before we hear, "Okay fine, there was collusion. TRUMP didn't do it though, my lowly staffers who got me coffee were being blackmailed by Nasty Hillary and Obama and the deep state, so that's why they did it."

Anyway, I'll wait for the Trumpers of the board to weigh in with their patented "Trump Derangement Syndrome" shit, and Mug will maybe get more page views. Honestly, I'm just bored at work and running on six hours of sleep over the last two days.

Can you imagine the firestorm from the Conservative Entertainment Complex if Obama had given a speech denouncing "Russian efforts to sway the election to Trump"?

Hypocrisy is the norm these days.  We have the Hypocrite in Chief in the highest office in the land.

But so long as his supporters are told he's putting money in their pockets, they'll bend over for him willingly.

The zenith of the Me First mentality, imo.  Seriously.

Has he admitted the sky is blue yet?  You all act like this is somehow news...  Russia’s been meddling in our elections forever and it’s only been a big deal this past cycle because of Clinton’s embarrassing loss.  Russia had no material impact on election results.

You left out a very important detail.  ¿What about all the $$$ laundering El Donald has done for the Russian Oligarchs?

The meddling has become much more effective with the proliferation of social media. Look at the immediate aftermath of the latest shooting. Within an hour the Russian troll farms were sending out barrages of tweets advocating extreme positions on both sides.

Every administration since Eisenhower & Kennedy????

No. In the lead up to the election, as the scope of Russki cyber-meddling became clear, Obama was reluctant to call them out by himself as he was concerned it would look too political. He tried to orchestrate a bipartisan condemnation. McConnell refused to sign on.

President Donald Trump questioned on Monday why his predecessor did not do more to address Russian meddling in the 2016 election, even as his own administration has been quiet about its efforts to address such interference in the future.

“Obama was President up to, and beyond, the 2016 Election. So why didn’t he do something about Russian meddling?” Trump wrote on Twitter on Monday.

Last month, the subject came up in an interview with former vice president Joe Biden. As Politico reported at the time:

Biden said … Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell stopped the Obama administration from speaking out about Russian interference in the 2016 campaign by refusing to sign on to a bipartisan statement of condemnation.

That moment, the former Democratic vice president said, made him think “the die had been cast … this was all about the political play.”

Unsurprisingly, McConnell had a different take. (“McConnell’s office disputed this account, pointing to a letter signed by all four congressional leaders in September 2016 and sent to the president of the National Association of State Election Directors, urging cybersecurity precautions in light of reports of attempted hacking. That missive, however, did not address Russia specifically, or the larger topic of influence beyond voting systems.”)

You missed the entire point of the post --- Trump has blamed everyone BUT Russia for RUSSIAN interference in our election.

How bout the 2012 election?  Did he do anything then?  Or perhaps the 2008 election.  There were a couple of years then that the Dems controlled all three houses.  Nah, didn't think so.

Am I reading this right? You're blaming Obama for not acting on a problem before anyone knew it was a problem?
