The **** unions make it so costly to build anything, we are never going to get it done without significant help from the state.

Does your beloved softball team still play on a high school type field?

I honestly feel bad for the fans of that program. Nothing in that picture is remotely realistic- not even the crowd size. Spend the money on axing the administration, hiring qualified replacements, and get some decent coaches. This has to feel like a nightmare for them.

Even if by some miracle that thing does go through, it’s like putting a new spoiler on a 1990 Geo Metro with obvious rust showing below the chipping paint.

Aren’t SJSU colors blue and gold?

why does the building have maroon in it?

is this a joke?

That's not paint, it's rust.  Remember this is just an artists rendering.

Relax folks. The quick cut and paste rendering is in no way meant to represent what the structure will actually look like. It was done to only give a sense of the scale of the structure, which is planned to span the distance between the 20 yard lines. The structure shown in that photo is actually the new Student Services building.

The East Side Stadium project replaces the NEZ, and makes a lot more sense. It will not only provide the new football offices, locker room, suites, and viewing terrace that the NEZ project offered, it will completely overhaul the east stands, which will make for a better game day experience for the students and visiting team fans. The backside of the structure will serve as viewing stands for the new soccer field that was put in place last year. The plan is to also include a tunnel for the team to enter and exit from. The athletic administration will have conceptual drawings to display at a later date, after an architectural firm is selected.

Congrats Sparta!  That is fantastic.  Hiding the scoreboard behind the NEZ is a genius move.  Agree that its totally better to not let it be seen during your games.

We are all in the same boat on that one.

God forbid you pay a living wage.
