Final Nod to the Josh Allen Hype Train

Rosen and Darnold are gonna be flops. Wait for it.

Mayfield is going to be Manziel 2.0

My gut tells me Darnold will do well.  Mayfield doesn't have the size or strength to succeed in the NFL in my opinion.  Rosen's a drama queen.

DEN.png5. Denver Broncos

Josh Allen, QB, WyomingJohn Elway's going to test the veteran quarterback market, but I don't think that'll preclude him from taking a quarterback. If the Broncos stay put, it'll either be Allen or Mayfield, and in this mock, Denver goes with the riskier option who, to many, has the most upside of any quarterback in this class. Allen won't be asked to start right away.”

I think Elway does like Josh.  But I doubt he trades up and I still suspect Darnold and Rosen are the first 2 QB's taken.  Mayfield could be #3.

I read that Josh Allen's biggest problem seems to be his footwork which leads to some bad throws.  He's a QB that will need to learn better footwork and not just try and rely on his arm.    Elway will have some good choices though since Cleveland has 2 of top 4 picks and will take only 1 QB and Indy won't take a QB in first round at least.  I haven't heard anything of the Giants taking Allen either.  So I'm pretty sure he will be avail at #5.   If anything Elway might trade down in the first and still get Josh at #14.

Mayfield's numbers much better, but no comparison in the talent each QB has around them. Combine will likely determine Allen's draft position.

2018 NFL Mock Draft: Matt Miller's Post-Super Bowl Predictions

“The Pick: QB Josh Allen, Wyoming

The Denver Broncos will be major players for Kirk Cousins in free agency, but in this early mock draft, I'm projecting them to go a different direction—signing Case Keenum and drafting a quarterback of the future. Wiping his hands free of Paxton Lynch in one offseason, John Elway can get a restart at quarterback and have a situation similar to what the Kansas City Chiefs had with Alex Smith and Patrick Mahomes.”

NYJ.png3. New York Jets (from IND)

Josh Allen, QB, WyomingFor this scenario to play out, Kirk Cousins would have to sign with someone other than the two favorites (including Denver). Arizona maybe? That leaves the Jets potentially looking to get ahead of the Browns for a quarterback while also worried someone else could trade up and take a fourth QB in the top five. We know the Jets are open to trading up for the right guy, and they have an extra second-rounder to work with.

In this scenario they have the Broncos moving up to No. 1 to pick up Sam Darnold.

NFL Mock Draft Vol. 2: Josh Allen a Giant? The Pre-Combine, Pre-Free Agency Projection

“As always, this isn’t based on any evaluation of mine, it’s based on discussions with decision-makers and evaluators across the NFL—and four months of reporting from having done The NFL Draft Column in the fall. With that background, I put together a mock on Sunday, and vetted it with guys from eight teams. Over that time, I rearranged it three times, and finally came up with this. Enjoy!”

Josh Allen has 'the best arm' in the draft and is still the QB for the Browns at No. 1, says Mel Kiper Jr.

"He's got the best arm of anyone in this draft,'' Kiper said on his pre-NFL Scouting Combine conference call Wednesday. "He has tremendous size, he has tremendous athleticism for a big man. You saw his mobility. You go back to that Iowa game earlier in the year. You go look at the Senior Bowl, in that first half, that second quarter, his mobility there. He's just got all the physical traits you want. Athletic-prowess, he's got the will to learn, he's got great competitive desire on the football field, (Wyoming coach) Craig Bohl raves about him.''

The problem with JaMarcus Russell, was entirely JaMarcus Russell.

I saw an article that said that he would barely bother to do any homework each week on opposing teams.  The guy got paid and just didn't care anymore and he didn't even try to stay in shape.

But being compared physically to JaMarcus Russell isn't a bad thing.  Being compared to his attitude regarding the game certainly would be.
