pokerider
Republicans are calling the Democrats bluff, and there will be no winners. Republicans won't win anything from this, but most assuredly Democrats are not going to come out looking good here.

That doesn't help of course but the banking regulations that used to allow banks freedom to make loans outside of specific criteria were determined to be racist. So now a the major banks like Wells Fargo can't make a loan to someone because a local loan officer thinks its is a good deal. They only hand out loans that fit specific criteria. What they have turned to to make the money is charging fees. They do everything they can to set up accounts in ways that lead to their customers incurring a fee. If you want a loan for a business it is almost impossible to get without a SBA guarantee. Any other loans you will get will require a specific credit score, down payment, income number ect.,.. Nothing is going to happen outside the box.
bluerules009
A government shutdown means nothing to 99% of the population. No one will even notice who has a real job in this country. If we shut the whole thing down for a year think of the money we could save.

Akkula
Thanks Mike Lee, Lindsay Graham, Jeff Flake, and Rand Paul for showing this is squarely a Trump shutdown. Now it is time for Mr. Deal maker to get something done. That partisan piece of trash you tried to force down the senators throat won't cut it. Can you believe McConnell didn't even meet with Democrats to hammer out a deal? Time to govern!
Akkula
It looks like MConnelly and Ryan forced a shutdown because they would allow for a few day funding extension. SAD!

Lol Democrats are going to be too busy trying to dis-impale themselves from this fiasco for any such nonsense. Besides, the House is scheduled off next week, and the two weeks after both parties will be in meetings. That’s why 4 weeks was the sensible time frame. Only fools who didn’t understand the Democrats had no leverage would think a CR lasting days would ever be a possibility. 8 minutes ago, Akkula said: Thanks Mike Lee, Lindsay Graham, Jeff Flake, and Rand Paul for showing this is squarely a Trump shutdown. Yeah, I am sure the public is going to be cool with them not coming up with a long term funding deal because "we have to go to recess." Children who want to go play at recess need to get their homework done first or they have to stay inside. It looks like their useless meetings just got moved up until now. Action and no more talk! Boise fan
Thought Donny was some master negotiator, even kinda wrote a book about it "The Art of the Deal". If you ask me, I'd say Donny's deal making abilities are like everything else about him: Highly suspect. Akkula
Maybe Donny shouldn't have started the DACA fire by ending the program if he didn't have an extinguisher. He is a great bomb thrower but bad at deal making. If you are going to end a program you better damn well have done sort of legislation proposal on next steps and not just punt. This is the typical Republican problem though. They know what they are against but cannot agree on what they are for so they don't have viable solutions when they destroy something. That is why they could not repeal the ACA.

Dems putting the fate of illegals ahead of the entire US Gov't and military, even though they have NO legislation to introduce on it, is not going to help their cause at all. This is all a political show by the Dems because they nothing else. They literally have nothing to offer. They think they can win by hating Trump and supporting illegals, that will give them some headlines but people will get wise to that quickly. ltcpilot
The Government Shutdown: Rick's thoughts More http://ricksfalconreview.blogspot.com/ I don't usually pontificate on politics, settling for being one of 'those' that forward articles or links on social media that I find interesting after trying to verify their accuracy. But today I must give a shout out for all to consider. Our government is shutdown temporarily due to the lack of consensus on a (now this is important) temporary spending bill. DID YOU GET THE WORD TEMPORARY? A bill that would allow the government to continue for up to 1 month while continuing to negotiate the final bill. With political jabs across the aisle it comes down to this for me: One side of the aisle has put DACA (Dreamers) and the plight of children of illegal individuals in the United States in front of the citizens of the United State. Many will read this and argue that they deserve care, something has to be done to help them which in the long term may be true but that is not the issue and this is not the time. This is all political theater. The reality of the situation is that the majority of Democrats on the left side of the aisle voted on not fulfilling their sworn duty to advocate for the constituents who elected them, who are U.S. citizens not Dreamers, not illegals. No matter what they say they 'offered in exchange' to pass the bill, the bottom line is they would not bend on their viewpoint and that now was the time to battle for illegals over our country. Senator McConnell said it simply: "The choice to fund the government by Friday is simple. 1) pass a noncontroversial, bipartisan bill to keep the government open OR 2) Democrats manufacture a crisis & force a government shutdown over an unrelated issue that we have until at least March to resolve" This saddens me as this shutdown affects men and women everywhere. My daughter, a contractor with the military, may be out of her job. It affects our military who is here to support and defend us. It makes us weaker. And, with the success that this country has had economically in the past year it is also a desperate act from the left to take attention away from what good has occurred in our country in the past 12 months to focus on support for those not in our country legally and puts their needs a priority OVER U.S. citizens. Hard to believe. Time for the politicians to be held accountable for their actions and this will definitely be remembered this fall during elections. Keep praying that this works out quickly for all involved. An update on AF sports home and abroad https://t.co/1x8iLgR1A6 God Bless America. Rick ..GO FALCONS..
